    massey 9560

I like to snoop around, and came across a decent deal on a massey 9560 with around 1000 threshing hours, but took in a rock. Nearly every threshing component has been changed front to back. Don't really need a third combine, but started thinking it would maybe make a good backup/combine for the kids to hop in after school. Also make about 1000 acres of hay, and thinking of turning that under due to getting tired of chasing people for money for hay bales. Could use another machine if I go that route.

Anybody ran one of these before? We had a 9895 at one time for a few years. Was a good machine other than we plugged the rock beater the odd time in large canola swaths, and the feeder chain would jump if you were going in tough barley swaths. But loosen the chain, and run a 9/16 socket through between the chain and the top sprocket and it would jump back. How would a 9560 compare to the 9895?

Don’t have any experience with a 9895 but we really like our 9560. Lots of power, v cooling system is awesome. If you push them they will throw over. Didn’t have any breakdowns this year which was great. Had a little trouble getting the canola sample as clean as we wanted. I would buy another. Really like the simplicity of the Massey machine.

Had a 9895 traded it for a 9560 The 9560 is a better machine The v cooling is very good went the whole season without having to blow out rad or air filter Cab is nice and quiet and very comfy Down falls of them capicity is not what it could be for so called class 8 will through over the sieves when pushed to hard.If you do straight combining gear box will over heat sometimes and puke out the oil out the breather, had to rebuild mine this season.Reversers for the header could be better chain sometimes like to break. With the side mount engine in bad hills will spin out on left side or try and slide that way. But all and all I like machine

traded a 9895 on a 9560... the 9560 is a higher capacity machine that burns 1/2 the fuel..

I found the 9560 a little harder to get set, this year I put an airfoil top sieve in it and bingo.. setting it was easier and as a result capacity increased.

I have 1400 threshing hrs on mine without any issues

Looks like good reviews all the way around! Will have to look at this a little more serious, and maybe add to the rainbow colours on the farm.

Or do you guys think it would be better to become more efficient with a bigger grain cart, dumping on the go, and rodono extend augers in the yard? Skip adding a combine that might get used half the season?

Even, or especially, with one combine, I pay a man to sit in cart tractor and unload on go.
Easily 20% more acres in a day.
Sep hrs @ $300+. Leaving crop to go dump costs grain as shoe emptys too.
              Just my 2 cents.

Have to admit I am curious what you have for combines now. Will also admit my experience with Massey combines is limited to my son running a 9895 on a demo for a couple of hours. Also have run in the same field with this combine with our CR9070, which the 9070 certainly proved to be quicker in the canola we were combining. As for the 9560 have to admit I have never run one. I really don’t think there is a lot of difference between the different companies single rotor machines. Comes down to personal preference and dealer support.

Have a 9230 case, and 750 Lexion. 850 bushel cart servicing them. Cart chases down the combines, but older neighbour and mom run the combines right now. They both don’t feel comfortable dumping on the go.

I totally agree, but combine operators aren’t comfortable at this point dumping on the go. We do have rollier land as well contributing to their apprehension. As they get older, I am slowly looking at hiring people. Hired a guy to replace dad, as he is no longer physically able to help. Will move to dumping on the go with younger operators.
