Who really thinks it is a good idea to build and farm in a former lake bed or near a river flood plain in this day and age?

We are woefully unprepared considering the obvious risks of climate change.

So 4 major weather related events in BC this year and climate change had nothing to do with it? LOL

Haven’t you heard? The great bear rain forest is up there on unceded land. Nothing will be built that direction.

Better off to take it south to the mighty Mississippi

Floods have happened in this area for centuries that is why it has fertile soil. All of these farms and communities are built on a river delta somehow we have decided that it is a great place to build communities and farms. Sadly mother nature flushes the toilet every so many years and we are all shocked when the whole area becomes a river.

Blah, blah , blah. When it comes to climate change and covid your record speaks for itself. Most of you are clueless and way out in far right fringe field and being ignored. But keep bleating you flat earth conspiracies! LOL

There’s worrying about it and then there’s thinking any current plans will actually be effective in mitigating it.

I also wasn’t aware that the Sumas area was built in “this day and age”. It’s fairly similar to every other settlement that was built around water. So most settlements ever in the history of humans.
