Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

Well fun week traveling south seen lots of corn left to be harvested and lots of piles of corn at terminals.

Some fields awesome some not so nice.

Cotton harvest was full force fun to see bales and bales of cotton. Cotton in the ditch song is right it blows off the trucks and you see it on the side of the road.

Peanut harvest is just over far south.

Lots of orange fruit trees getting pushed over disease and years of orchard need to be replaced or made way for housing.

    Florida is booming. Wonder why?

Sask had a storm or two since I left cameras show white and lots of white.

Back next week since this was just a run to take the Yukon to our home.

Off to get the PCR test to come home as skippy Mc **** nuts can’t get anything right.

I think she ended up in Saskattchitoonie ( from the movie GrownUps ) because of some weather issues.

She could have done it virtually from her office in Ottawa , there is nothing to see here now with regards to drought. The season is over. Infilled the Pulse Canada money shortfall due to lower yields. And less checkoff money for those organizations.

Makes me wonder what the phuck they discussed at the FPT meeting last week.

So like I said when it got dry

They all say first it’s not bad

Then later when everyone says it’s bad they spew we will work hard

Then delay due to top agenda talks

Code word for we’re doing **** all

        Then election that stopped everything

Then a win and wait months to tell us same fool as minister

Finally hope the public forgot and move on doing nothing

We’re ****ed as farmers till we all get on the same page and realize being nice does **** all with politicians

True but do hear any conservative MPs in Saskatchewan making any noise? Thats all we have , 14 of them and they can not speak up???

Not phucking one has made mention of the drought hat is continuing. I don't think any are actual farmers anymore, they can say they have family links to the farm...just an idiotic prerequisite

There isn't one active farmer MP from Saskatchewan.
          .

          Saskparty isn't much better.

If you look at it objectively.

Glad you made it down SF

Winter arrived here rather abruptly with crazy winds. School busses were canceled Tuesday but we never got notified. The drivers used to call us when they weren’t running when I was a kid but now nobody does. Apparently an automated message was supposed to be sent out but never did. Way poorer communication than 30 years ago.

The pairs out grazing yet are doing fine and not grumpy at all. Might have another 5 days or so since a lot is going to be lost now. Still not coming to mob the truck obviously happy which is great.

My wife took this yesterday while out walking the weaned calves. Tomorrow she turns two years old and is growing up fast. She loves seeing and talking to all the “baby cows”.

Haven’t treated anyone since we weaned and boostered these calves which is great. I’d sooner spend a buck on prevention than one on treatment.

Crop insurance finally settled our corn insurance yesterday. Not sure why it took 75 days when it’s all automated. Our pasture insurance is run the same way and only took two weeks to settle.

Anyone who’s worked cattle with family can relate to this😎

Things have finally slowed down here and it’s nice to be kinda on a 8-5 schedule. Finally catching up on some family time and sleep. 🍀

So if fertilizer was a true market with the railway down would t potash and anhydrous and fertilizer be dropping like a stone sonce most bow would only be able to be sold to Canadian farmers?

Nah it’s all bullshit but if it’s grain oh it has to drop space is tough etc.

                - China cuts phosphate exports to build batteries... Electric cars will drastically reduce the supply of phosphate fertilizers, says one of the world’s leading manufacturers of the crop input. Joc O’Rourke, president of The Mosaic Company, said phosphoric acid, which is the building block of phosphate fertilizer, is starting to find its way into other industrial products, in particular the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries that are increasingly being used in electric cars. That will result in a long-term reduction in the production of a key crop input. In particular, he forecasts a reduction in shipments out of China, which is the world’s leading exporter of the product.
Jenny Wang, vice-president of global strategic marketing with Mosaic, said the increasing demand for LFP batteries is one of the drivers behind China’s rapidly changing phosphate industry. This year alone, 300,000 tonnes of purified phosphoric acid has shifted out of agricultural fertilizer production and into the LFP market. That equates to about 500,000 tonnes of lost diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer production. She said this is just the start of a lasting trend that will “profoundly change” China’s phosphate industry but will also have reverberations around the globe.
China this summer started blocking phosphate exports through June 2022 in an effort to ensure its own farmers have access to the input. China is responsible for one-third of the world’s exports of DAP and MAP phosphate products.

This is just another kick to the nuts. Russia doing the same thing also.
Also, we are selling our fert to the states so the Nutriens of the world can profit more and leave us Canadian farmers paying more if you can even get it.

Fert is up 250% from a yr ago and likely going higher.
Maybe best to farm for the programs next yr.

Saskfarmer, just hearing on the radio,,, Canada is dropping the PCR test when returning to Canada, if your travel to the U.S. was 72 hours or less. Baby steps!
Not sure when this change will officially take place.
