Looks like bumper crop coming in canola.

The seed guys want to charge what they want but doesn't that come with an obligation to fulfill needs. My guess is they will find the required bags when the price goes up.

Poor crop in Chile or where ever it comes from.
Don't empty your canola bins before seeding.

ordered in early sept 135 bags, two suppliers , paid for them and getting them all so far

I think all canola seed is produced with irrigation. Anyone know what the canola yield was like with irrigation?

Maybe try to buy the same variety as you had last year.

Then seed light to cover more acres.

Sounds like the stuff down by Lethbridge maybe did 1/4 or a touch higher.

Irrigation wouldn’t really matter if it got heat blasted and shrivelled into pepper.

Think the suppliers that have stuff in Colorado seem to be doing better?

Well here all along I was told for all the money we spend on the new super canola the heat would not matter. Just pour the inputs on and if you have a little moisture BANG 60 bu.

Does anyone know much about the logistics of seed out of South America?
Namely, is it possible to get supply harvested, processed and brought up here in time for our seeding season?
And did we know about the quantity and quality issues in our seed supply soon enough to motivate South American producers to grow more seed to make up the shortfall, or was it too late?

Hearing now that Dekalb seed for this coming spring, is going to be sold by seed size, as the Invigors were last year.
