    G3/Farmer's Equity Trust

Can someone explain this Farmers Equity Trust thing? I received an annual statement from Alliance Trust Company again this year, telling me I have so many "units", but no indication of value in dollar terms. I've sold a bit of grain to G3 over the years since they started up, a minor part of what I've grown. As I understand it this is what farmers got out of the CWB when Yarry gave it to the Saudis. So does it work like a Co-op equity that you can draw out at a certain age? Or can you sell and buy these units like shares in a company? I understand you get so many units based on the amount of grain you deliver to them.

I suppose I should have paid more attention back when G3 was starting up but at the time I figured it was just more Wheat Board BS. Maybe I can get enough out of it to buy my wife and I a coffee and a doughnut at Robins.

I’ll take the under on whether or not it is enough to get both you and your wife a coffee and donut. Sorry couldn’t resist

It was kind of a secret deal but think the Saudi Gov't has about 7 years (that is this year I think) then can pay farmers whatever they feel the shares are worth. Not sure if you are obliged to sell or not. By that time I will bet that the shares will be worth little as the company must owe a heck of a pile after all the new elevators and and port facilities. Has anyone seen or know where you can see the financials of your company?

You own 50.1% do you also get the chance to buy out the Saudi's?

I wouldn't wonder that China is pissed that they didn't get the same chance as the Saudi's to buy in and be making some retaliation moves under the disguise of something else. Have any of you owners seen any of the fine print in the deal or if any other offers were on the table?

This is a real Cracker of a deal for someone.

Does anyone have a concrete value of the cwb assets upon dispersion? How much of it would us farmers be entitled to? We were always fed the shit it was our board and all that but it was a government agency no less no more. So how can we even claim anything from it? Couple old ndp hacks I have for friends on Facebook were belly aching about the board going and farmers not getting their money out of it. These folks hardly grew a bushel of wheat and had this notion the single desk was great. They all hang onto us losing this money from the sale of the cwb. I want some real documentation of the book value of the cwb when sold to the house of Saud.

Exactly my point. No one has a clue or a number. Just here say and what not. Hell, the saudis could’ve bought their Rolodex for all we know. The buggers shackled guys for making a symbolic border run with a 3 ton of wheat. Christ sakes same era the Mohawks parked a car on the highway, killed a cop, had a standoff for months, and faced piss all for prosecution. And to say it was our board! Give me a break! Ritz bungled dismantling and the transition but let it rest. The money if there really was any is long gone.

You can't tell me the Board of Directors at the time didn't know what the books looked like or what the deal was. If they didn't they weren't doing their job and should still be called out. Does anyone remember who was all on at that time giving direction to the minister? Guess one could google it and find out unless Ritz hid that too.

They could have, but the ones that were appointed by Ritz Cracker more than likely received a golden egg and had to sign off in order to get the hush money.

3000 hopper cars owned by farmers and who owns them now?

Government printed off some cash for the railways to buy much more efficient new ones.

Take care of your friends 😊

Are you sure you aren't an NFU member?
Because that reads almost word for word out of their hymnal.
