Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

Oh my God is it Cold today. GMC has a recall on all block heaters for 2017 2018 and maybe 2019 3/4 and 1 tons. Little stiff today.

Oh to all the city dwellers and voters in Toronto this isn't Climate change it's just a good old fashion winter cooler day.

Seems skippy wanted to shut things down again from coast to coast. Premiers said no way little girl your 15 min are up now get back to work. Skippy pouted stomped his feet and hung up the phone. Jerry said skippy my boy the jet is fired up and you can travel to Barbados for Christmas so you better get going. But Jerry I wanted to shut Canada down again for Christmas I'm PM. I'm a God I have nice socks and people love me, they tell me every day they love me. No skippy they are saying **** OFF.

All I want for Christmas is the East to finally wake up and toss this piece of shit gov to the curb. That's it. nothing else just get some sort of Adult in charge and get back to work.

Year-end summary of Canada and its debt. We are well over a Trillion new debt since skippy took over all printed and nothing gained. At this rate, if he has 4 more years it will be two trillion and that's when Canada fails. Only one group the retired and last of the baby boomers has any real assets. So guess who they will crush when the final clock ticks to midnight on our debt.

Bank of England raised rates due to the Covid **** up.

Were next and it is going to get stupid here. Most city people couldn't last a 1 % increase well let's see how they do with 8% real quick.

Shortages here and there are getting real old. White tin screws for the interior of our shop addition are in short supply I got the last three bags in Regina maybe more next week. It's screws for tin.

Fertilizer well that is the biggest screwing in the world going on right now.

We have the cheapest natural gas in Canada in the world yet were one of the highest prices of fert. Someone explain how a country with a dollar at .36 cents compared to the USA dollar can buy gas or nitrogen. Do they pay 6500 a ton? Didn't think so. It's a joke and then they will create a supply shortage so those who didn't buy won't get the product in spring.

Hey, how well have the farmer groups done with Boboo since the election hasn't heard a peep? Yea I said it before they will drag it on and on and on till most have forgotten about the drought and do nothing for western Canadian farmers.

So on the farm elevators are filling up but it has been good news the rail lines are open at a slower rate going through BC. Grain prices have had an awful time lately as the companies all go with full big profits before year-end and wash out of their position.s It's interesting watching videos from Australia harvesting crops in the mud. 2010 all over duals on duals and stuck all over and ruts. been there done that it's not a big bumper crop. Machinery is put away and most are working in shop doing Zoom meetings or making the wife happy fixing all the stuff they promised to fix the last 6 months now.

We had some snow but like always the wind followed and now the ditches and back roads are almost shut for good and full. Fields not so much. We need a good rain next spring that's it that's all or 2022 will be worse than 2021.

A couple of new sales seem to the West of me it's $300,000. and up for land to the north $180,000 and up to the East $350,000 and the south $560,000.00. Yep cheap compared to Alberta or southern sask or Manitoba. Too cheap, I would say but hey we grow crops I guess that doesn't count in the land wars.

Equipment is another thing that is getting stupid. New Quad track full Load all options big HP cash no trade deal with full discounts $821,000. you cant make shit up. It's time to shift to idle and watch the show from the sidelines.

FCC upped the new farmer loans to 1.5 now I think or maybe a little lower. Lots of sons are building daddy new shops.

Sask Ag is looking for crop Reporters. HAHAHAAH pays well. **** all but you get a plaque.

Bobbo wishes all farmers a merry Christmas that's it that's all the feds will do they didn't even help the PEI potato farmers who they crushed with no sales from Canada. Eat your spuds support a farmer.

So guys are getting what little fertilizer they can get or price with year-end prices. Some are booking chemicals etc and most are just hunkering down for a long long winter. Most will need to up their credit limits with all the extra costs.

So might be the last crop report of the year since its wheels up this weekend for me to head south again. Trudeau can go away so can other Canadians. Have a merry Christmas and a Happy new year and please talk to your neighbors it has been one tough year.

    Merry Chirstmas.

Farmers were not mentioned since parliament resumed. they will elect a chair for the AG committee today.

Bill C2 will pass and give 7.5 billion to the tourism and hospitality industry.

Farmers are expected to borrow against the farm's equity or told to shut it down.

I heard in the finance committee how hotel owners have fixed costs that have to be paid whether they have guests or not.

          Say what ...and farmers don't?

Too bad the huge staff every farm group has doesn't follow these types meetings and see what other industries are getting from government.

Tell me the difference between a hotel owner with a guest drought due to covid restriction and a farmer with a yield loss due to a real drought?

The 4 million announced for hay west isn't even a 0.5% interest on the 7.5 billion for the hotel industry.

That is how little ranchers matter. And sadly my MP is talking about medical privacy in one of the hardest hit ranching constituencies in the country.

            It’s been a busy week here…………
My wife got induced on Saturday which was 10 days ahead of the due date. The ultrasound was showing the baby was on the big side and it actually was telling the truth.

My wife is Amazing as she delivered without any painkiller whatsoever. Everything went great and we took baby Fred home to meet his cousins and siblings on Sunday.

The home care nurse came out on Monday to do a checkup and was concerned about jaundice so she came back Tuesday to check him out again. Even though he looked better the blood test came back as bad enough to almost need a blood transfusion. So we packed up all the kids(since they were home sick instead of at school) and headed the 100 km to the hospital. They put Fred under some special blue lights and want him fed every two hours so my wife is more than a little exhausted.

Hopefully he gets sprung today and then everyone can start getting some sleep. It’s been crazy too that every nurse at the hospital tells my wife something different as to if she have a visitor or even go to eat in the cafeteria. We didn’t pack any food in the hurry to go and she doesn’t get meals since she’s not a patient.

Still got sniffling kids here that my mom watches while I go feeding so things are pretty laid back here.

This was from the one day Fred was at home.

            On a sadder note………….
Found out the neighbour two miles over passed away rather unexpectedly on Sunday. He loved photography and was always out taking pictures here or in Saskatchewan. As my cousin pointed out the circle of life rolls on whether we like it or not.
RIP Ross hopefully you’re soaring with the eagles you loved to watch🍀

congratulations on the new addition woodland.
I always wondered if you lived close to Ross by some of your photos. Ross was from our area and a great friend. We are just looking through old photo albums and reliving a "misspent youth". Some great memories. And I am sure we recognize the yard in that pic as one a few miles over.
                    Thanks for mentioning him.

                        It’s a small world isn’t it Red Rider🍀

I know his brother Kelly a little better as he managed the oil wells in the neighbourhood and he was great to deal with. They still own land back east I believe. I know Ross would often set out to go back that way for pictures since there’s less light pollution than by us. He knew all the different types of birds and astrological calendar for catching the moon and northern lights. Just last month he was clicking away at some eagles chewing on a dead critter of ours across from his driveway.

The neighbourhood feels a little more empty today…………..
