Call to our own booze traveller, saskfarm, is there any decent USA beer? Realize you are dealing with a tough crowd.

The beers with the biggest shelf space in California are one called 805 with 4.7%, You can order at any place you eat. Made by Firestone Walker in Paso Robles.
They got such a big market share some Belgian brewery bought them out.

Stone Brewery near San Diego gets a lot of shelf space. Most of thier beer is 5 to 8.5% alcohol. If you go to the brewery for Sunday brunch they sell you a flyte of 5 samples about 6oz each. By the time you drink that yer pretty stupid for that time of the day.
            Say they have 1100 employees.
Don't care for those high alcohol beers.
Not the American beer we made fun of as teens.
