Never heard of these before. Now they seem to be a a common occurrence. Another one scheduled for Sierra Nevadas. Can we expect that in the spring? What would these do to volatility in the markets?

Believe it was called the Pineapple Express before. Atmospheric River sounds scarier and man made. If we get lucky enuf to get one in April it will definitely help crop prospects. We need the moisture. Just as long as it doesn’t hang around til July. That would definitely move markets.

They have been around for centuries, check out the earlier thread on this about the one that hit BC .
They typically move south into Northern California in December .
Check out the floods in the 1800’s in central California. They were very heavy .
But now that the name change I am sure it will be blamed on man made carbon or whatever .Last edited by furrowtickler; Dec 22, 2021, 10:39.

Does that happen when we achieve the zero C02?

Hopefully they do not get worse in times no doubt but before people only get the 1/2 of the story blaming recent events from the lame stream media , it’s always good to look back in history to get a real sense of “catastrophic†events .
