Sorry to hear about your mom as well . For both to live into their 90’s is rare and special to be together for that 70 years . That’s a testament in its own nowadays. 👍
We all go through this at some point in life. As shown by above posts .
Merry Christmas to all Agriville, stay warm and make memories with family .
Same to you, grieve as needed, Pop still asking WHY today? Lots of denial, consoling, time will tell. Almost begging him to keep going, go for 100 we say.
Yours as mine lived in VERY basic poor conditions, worked hard, all manual labor, few conveniences and still made this age, truly impressive people! We are grateful for all they did.

Merry Christmas to all Agrivillers. I hope you’ve enjoyed your time with your families today. Usually parents are the ones who first tell you you’re loved And then your entire family takes opportunity over time and occasion, to show you how much you’re loved. The familial circle is genetically our source of our most dependable support and affection.

Many of you know, or have learned, or have yet to learn that every family is not immune to losing some of your support system at an early age. Depopulation of family began for me when my eldest sister died when I was four. Today my closest bank of my-era relatives consists of only one first cousin.

Memories become a source of strength. Several of you have indeed stressed the importance of memories and it’s such good advice, folks. Who is your go-to when you need advice? What if they don’t want to be your go-to?

When you’re sick, or sad, or plain feeling alone, and if you’ve made good memories, and not tried to substitute them, they will make you make you smile.
Even Agrivillers are making memories. In 2021.

How many Xmas shows did you watch over the holidays? I had the misfortune to be locked up during Xmas and got to watch Johnny Roses Christmas again. Just thinking of all the memories made at Schitts Creek and Dog River.

I am heartened by what I have seen around the city in the past few days. The fear mongering politicians and govt paid experts have all been put on ignore. Big groups of families at most homes. Families coming back together. Covid was barely a background topic at our gathering this year. Last year we didnt even get together because the atmosphere was so charged.

I feel the winds are changing back again maybe back to a more traditionalist view of the world. The govt doesnt have your back, your family does.

This is purely anecdotal, so I could be way off base, but.

It seems to me that people are making more effort to keep business local, and to buy local made products. And travel, and visit more local, this maybe forced upon us, but maybe it will stick. I've met with more of my former classmates, and co-workers in the past 2 years, than in the 10 years preceding that. There will be a lot of permanent changes at the other end of this, and I think these might just be for the better.

As for Covid measures, the attititude seems to have shifted to live and let live in most circles lately.
