    Anyone get much snow?

We got a schwack. Eight inches minimum.

Guaranteed runoff. Significant runoff. When this blows around, oh boy.

Plenty of snow here east of Edmonton. When the wind blows it will be a big dig out of the yard and drive. Drive is relatively long which is a good deterrent to thieves but sucks when moving snow. All the sloughs that were mowed, disked, and burned this fall will have water in them this spring so the dugouts will fill. Higher ground will remain dry so 22 crop will once again be highly variable. Where to put the fertilizer?

Have a good cover here. Our pocket of heaven has more than south or west of us. Further north there is more. No frost hardly but dad says piling trees is hard going so must be some moisture.

Not a lot here , get about 1-2” maybe at a time when others getting 5-10” but that’s normal. Be average at best here for this time of year . Long winter ahead yet but at time time so far there still will be zero run off here, north of here there is lots and hopefully they get more to help recharge lakes and creeks cause everything went into fall dried out or very low .
Still hoping to farm most of our low areas , with zero subsoil and minimal rain that will be the only areas to produce decent crops . Lots can change by spring so time will tell

Run off or lack of it might surprise people though
Last spring a drift would melt and ground would be dry under when it was gone
And we had a lot better moisture last spring

Remember years ago when guys would ridge fields to trap snow. PFR had guy over by Tisdale with that setup on his tractor to do just that. Lot of stuff on PFR looked innovative and well thought out in the day but now watched looks dated and pointless.

Perhaps 4-6” total on the ground here since the start of winter. But we had a good chinook several weeks ago. Have only bladed snow twice so far. -36C this morning.
