Friday Crop Report on a Thursday. End of the year

Well as 2021 comes to a close let’s look back on the season that was and who was with us and who screwed farmers.

A big **** job is coming from the fertilizer companies. Any one who farms and thinks Fert is priced right needs a ****ing slap so hard it would send you back to 2018.

Grain companies screwed farmers hurt by the drought with BS buyouts when they are covered. Watch when they start releasing profits. Yea farmers got the shaft.

Gov hurt farmers, boo-boo was talking about then skippy called an election and all was forgotten not even a peep after it was over. They moved on and want farmers to move on.

Farm groups all failed farmers. Being nice is so good working with the feds or province. Yea I called a drought the canola group was still calling on a bumper. Prov ag minister wouldn’t say it was bad till it was to late. Boo-boo wasn’t even out to check.

Phone the stress line was a positive this year because that’s the only thing that works.

Farmers are the life line needed to get us out of COVID and moving forward. We are the forgotten. Some day hopefully we’ll get our recognition until then we fight on.

Happy New year from Florida I can’t find Killy down here so I guess he’s someplace else. COVID is getting sick already just open up already and let’s get on with life. Wash your hands stay a few feet apart and couch into your sleeve. Be clean. Get the shot if you want it’s a vaccine but if you didn’t no big deal that’s your decision.

    Crop report .

Railways are slowing down with the cold weather, train derailment near craven it was all potash.

Farmers are either away or hunkered down with the cold temps outside. Feeding cows is a challenge but they get it done you are the real hero’s.

BRandom Ag Days is cancelled again so maybe I won’t come home for a couple weeks in January it’s a great show and COVID ****ed it up.

A big thank you to my friend Larry Webber who is one of the only ones who really cares about farmers and actually wants farmers to succeed. Happy new year!

Take care all and let’s hope and pray 2022 is our year to shine in Ag.

Happy New-year from my family to yours.

Oh Sask ag and food is looking for crop reporters hey let them know your interested and let’s tell the real truth about growing crops in the west.

Min -38 feels like -43 our weather station at the farm says right now. That’s cold and boy did it snow since we left the cameras show.

One heck of a cold snap to end the year.

Just drove Regina to Calgary. Horrific wind most of the way. It must have been colder than -50C in Swift yesterday. But good news is snow on the ground all the way to calgary so some moisture for spring there at least.

Tough yr all around for everything and everyone. Hope everyone has coped well and is in a moving forward state. Mental health is beyond a huge issue. I’m not embarrassed to say I suffer from issues. I have good friends i talk to, and it helps. My wife is also very supportive of the things I go through.

The Mighty Moe provincial government pissed me off and most farmers when they basically blamed the farmers for the way their books look.
Sorry Mr Moe I can’t make it rain, no one can so suck it up. Mr Marrit comes on and says programs like CI and luddy da are out there for farmers to take advantage of to keep operating. I’ve lost some respect for this government, or should I say a lot.

Thx Saskfarmer for your weekly report!
          Enjoy your time down south.

No none of us can do that, What we can do is manage our risk profiles. I am sorry for the guys who forward contracted 50% of their production when the drill was still in the snowbank, but cmon, thats just asinine and stupid risk to take.

There are BTOs with 8 and 9 figure leveraged debts. All you have to do is look up the land titles to see it. Is that good management. We blast wall street when they run up leverage and then things sour. Maybe Moe has a point.

Every farmer is in control of their actions, and must be accountable for them. Yes I believe possibly grain companies should have worked with farmers better than just saying we need a cheque before month end.
It’s a tough situation. There is too much risk all the time in this game and not being able to “pony” up at the end would make for many sleepless nights for me.

Anyone notice how quick the " contract issue " got top of list coverage.

                Do you guys know why?

Because the people sitting on boards got caught in their own arrogance.

They put alot of effort into a survey that only got 200 responses about the decision those 200 farmers made.

There are 30000 farmers in saskatchewan.

One more thing Cargill get a big thumbs down ****ed farmers with getting paid with a new horrible system and did nothing to compensate. **** all here is a penny for your thoughts.

Also grain companies who screw farmers on shortages on contracts but when they can’t fulfill a contract three months go buy it’s your problem.

One rule when checks are late never trust a company!

Signing up for target price is so stupid it’s not even funny!

Your rebate for chemical is just your money back.

I've said before, I hope in 50 years mental health can be talked about, understood and dealt with as diabetes is today.
Being open about it today is the beginning. Good luck, you're not alone.

Moved the bunch of calves and bred heifers into some fresh corn. Sure disappears quick in this snowy cold weather and can’t push them to clean it up like normal either. Hopefully we can come back across it in the spring to pick it a little cleaner if weather allows.

Had a bigger crew for checking water and mineral today. Hard to get everyone in the shot at the same time. Feels weird to not have any plans for New Year’s Eve but a bunch of family is coming out tomorrow for skating, firepit and tobogganing if the weather permits.

Supposed to get a nice weekend before dropping back into the icebox again. The province just announced that Christmas break for school has been extended for a week. Our kids will be disappointed since their break started a week later than everyone else so no extra free time for them…………… so far.

Hopefully next year will resemble some sort of normalcy……….. whatever that is anymore. Also some better bovine prices and a decent growing season for cow chow would be greatly appreciated.🍀

Omnicro I think every one will get it sooner than later.

                              2400 flights canceled in USA.

Florida has lots testing and higher counts.
