Carbon tax is a convenient tax for govt to collect revenue from every facet of the economy. It goes farther than a gst as it taxes output as well as consumption. Far easier to tax resource and mineral extraction than with royalties and income tax. Chinese companies who expect to pillage our resources for nothing would theoretically have to pay their share. Don’t get me wrong it is a boondoggle which will erode our standard of living and crash the economy. I guess maybe by the time the carbon tax reaches $170/tonne our currency will be so worthless it may be not that much. Only way the scheme flies is if personal income tax is reduced and every other country partakes in it. Till then we are just falling on our sword.

They think they will wake up one morning and everthing will be good again.

Yes. Blaming food price increases on gas prices is a lame argument. It’s a far more complex group of factors which are attributing to this. It’d be like saying lng price is why fertilizer is so expensive now. Makes no sense just a bs excuse someone with basic math skills knows is not true.

Climate bedwetters like carbon Chuck are the reason the cost of living will skyrocket in 2022. Food banks and soup kitchens will be busy.

"WASHINGTON, Nov 10 (Reuters) - U.S. consumer prices accelerated in October as Americans paid more for gasoline and food, leading to the biggest annual gain in 31 years, more signs that inflation could stay uncomfortably high well into 2022 amid snarled global supply chains.

Inflation pressures are also brewing in the labor market, where an acute shortage of workers is driving wages higher. The number of Americans filing claims for unemployment benefits fell to a 20-month low last week, other data showed on Wednesday."

No It can't be true. Inflation is caused only by Canada's carbon tax?

Except it is happening in the USA too where there is no carbon tax! Say it aint so. It must be a conspiracy? LOL

Mr Treudau said at the recent climate summit that it was unfair for Canadians to pay climate tax when no one else does

You like being one of the few coutries paying it when you sell your production at the world price?

I know, I know. No way to measure. But, I wonder, how many times is the tax applied?
From breeding/caring of the initial product to heating/cooling the retail store.
                  And the provincial sales tax????
Mega bucks and still a broke budget?
