That's exactly how I managed the whole Covid period.

    The buying opportunities were unbelievable.

Rather than sitting on Agriville , cutting, pasting, claiming insider trading, boggie men in closets, whining, and bitching about how the billionaires were getting richer (which I was smart enough to know I have no control over that) I invested my money in their companies and others like them.

Is it their fault they developed companies that are extremely successful.

They would have still been making their billions regardless of what we may think they have as an unfair advantage.
Yes, I did look at these companies and with the lack of stability and the companies high P/E ratios it just didn't make sense. in hindsight it would have been good to buy these companies...who knew. I did buy Zoom and sold and now hold oil and mineral maybe not as good but I'm doing OK. At least it's not sittin' in savings account

Crooks get rich on others backs/toil. They are cruel evil leeches.

Morals would prevent that kind of brave. Personally I try to NOT feed the demons.

Probably a few hundred ROTTEN SOB's like the TURD included.

Oh ya I forgot "god dam the CBC to he ll"

And bless that woman, a beacon of intelligence.

The point is the way everything is turning out now was considered a conspiracy theory 2 years ago by those profiting today ..... good foresight there forage

I don't think it's only CBC that deserves criticism. Global ranting endlessly about the pandemic and trotting out every NDP doctor they can find to bleat on about how the provincial government is going to kill us all is sickening. And of course over at CTV we have the Lovely Lisa who, whenever she talks about or interviews the Boy Blunder, likely leaves a wet spot on her chair.

I enjoy watching BBC more than ay Canadian or American news. They got a little carried away with globull warning after Glasgow but generally seem more balanced and less hysterical than any of the North American outfits.

Not realy anything we didn't know. Totally agree with most of what she says but the decline in my opinion started when they went from a short pertinent newscast to one hour of editorializing.

What happens now. Will anyone hold thier feet to the fire? Will the slightly more right conservatives cut thier funding and require real news reports?

Probably just more woke articles based on stuff picked up off the internet.

My generation was still concerned about the man/woman ratio hiring and Rosemary Barton.
All of a sudden it's all woke Social Justice Warriors.

Don't watch it at all and get real fidgety when it's on in a vehicle I'm riding in.

I agree about the socialist BBC at least having some news.

Read the book of same name a while back.
The costs are more than we know. An endless pool of money for legal teams is just one of the open check books. Zero fiscal responsibility. All politics. As in Ottawa, no one there has ever written a check or lived outside of university or govt.
How could the CBC turn out any different the way it's structured and operated?
Anyone can see the what and how of its evolution from public servant to self serving puppet over the last generation. Inevitable. Sadly a true Canadian institution in every sense.
I support a way to change or scrap it.
I subscribe to PBS and have always thought it a sustainable model for public broadcasting. It's programming speaks for itself. Utterly no comparison whatsoever.
However, what we have is so firmly ingrained there is no way to change it easily.
Gutting the CRTC, opening up bandwidth etc to all companies and shows and maybe make the cbc beat the pavement for corporate and private sponsors.
CKUA radio here in AB another example of how it could look. True cultural openness driven by donor demand.
Not a centralized, mandated, edict from on high for the unwashed. Thank JTs dad for that too?

"Reads like a parody of the student press" best describes what to expect if you follow CBC.

What was once a conspiracy theory that the CBC was just a liberal mouthpiece.... is no longer
Like many other things , reality is showing up .
State owned media. That pretty much says it all. Twenty years ago, they would at least try to hide their political bias. Not any more. Just a bunch of lazy Liberal boot lickers whose ideas have very little relevance in this part of the country. The politicization of CBC is first step in Canada's endless march toward a politically polarized media, similar to what you already see in the US. I'm sure there's still a few good journalists at CBC. But you won't see much their work when the entire 60 minute national newscast is filled with COVID hysteria and the incoherent blathering of"the panel". Marketplace is about the only CBC show worth watching.

The Cbc is wokeing itself into to oblivion. I agree on that.
I love Dave Chappell, and shame on the cbc if they do not. People need to get over being offended.
But some of you seem to think that letting the Rupert Murdocks (fox) and the
ELON 'S or Jeff Bezos run the media , would be an improvement.
You see the garbage fox puts out now . And you want more.
Just Who do you think will own all media then ,? Guess?
You already bought into globalization under the Bushes Clinton's and Mulroney s . Now pissed at that monster of your own creation , global capitalism, you want to hand all of the media over to them.

The same controlling intrests you are worried about.
Sounds like they are outsmarting you again.
