Idealism couldn't possibly be based on reality or practical experience. Reality and practical experience immediately, unforgivingly and harshly crush any such notion as idealism.
In order to maintain these radical idealist view points, such as our mutual friend Chuck, one has to be completely and purposefully detached from reality. And anyone with practical experience in, anything practical, could not possibly remain an idealogue.

What does intellectual thought and idealism have to do with each other??
Actually the more I think about it, pure idealists aren't that intelligent.Last edited by blackpowder; Jan 15, 2022, 18:53.

Chuck is a Master he scored real high so he thinks he's above us all.
HAHAHAHA
Chuck read what I said most profs were lefties and pushed their BS.
But the smart ones graduated and moved on with life the rest fell into the trap and don't think for themselves.
It's a paper that shows you are willing to learn and it opens doors some know what to do other cant figure out how to turn the knob.
Chuck is a prime example of someone who cant figure out how to turn the knob and wants us to come back and open the door for him and hand over what we made. It's about taking everyone down to his level because he was too busy analyzing instead of doing.
Enough said now let's move on.
Awesome 6 in of new snow is getting deep in the bushes, sledding is great but open fields have hard spots. Not that much moisture in an ft or more of snow but it's better than last winter.
Heading south soon again it's time to get back to a normal life without restrictions.

It would have been equally inappropriate for professors in STEM courses to have ranting against Obama, or to offer their pro Stephen Harper view points. (They weren't of course, 100% of the professors who saw a need to inject their political view points into an otherwise non political technical lecture were left leaning, some leaned so far they fell right off the edge I think)
There is nothing political about organic chemistry, or advanced thermodynamics. And the STEM programs have the least radical left extremist professors ( and students) compared to the soft sciences. And that is a scary thought.
Why inject your political views into what otherwise is just climate science? LOL
To cap it off you provide no evidence from any scientific organization that says human caused climate change is not real and that we need more greenhouse gases, not less in the atmosphere.Last edited by chuckChuck; Jan 16, 2022, 08:59.

An acquaintance, a potter, with a Masters in Fine Arts and an Ed degree was hired at SIAST about 18 years ago to teach Business, yep Business. He never had 1 day of business experience. He retired from SiAST now and lives in his parent’s 1960 house. Does that sound right SF? But he has flip-flopped to right-wing vote now. Humpty must have fallen off the wall.

Community and vocational colleges tend not to have as many left leaners like university. I’ve been in both. University profs have been left forever. You have to be pretty incompetent or done something unwoke or commit a heinous act to lose tenure. Primary and secondary education has about the same set of rules as well. Has to be an element of job security because it is a profession and self regulation is an element of that. I think when you go to university you would be naive and stupid eventually if you don’t realize profs will spill their politics for varying reasons. The most insidious is trying to influence the non critical thinking and perhaps obedient students. The other is a test by profs to see who will prove them wrong and who fall in line. You need the two types of people.

Strong NDP until retirement.
Strong conservatives after. More con than the Cons actually.
