Viterra claim Canada produced 14.5 mmt

Viterra has canola at 14.5 mmt in Canada for 2021 production. Is that right we grew 3/4 of an average crop. I know I didn’t even make 50% of average. Anyway Canola is back to $1000mt

Crop must have been massive in many areas to offset the 25-50% average yields

Markets today sure reacted opposite to 14.5

        Isn’t statscan much lower???

They must have some sales they need to fill with lower priced canola and no willing sellers.
That’s exactly what I thought , classic move for them and P&H lol

Their price texts are embarrassing to read
One said try a $6.60 March oat target 5 miles away it was $10.75

Lucky to combine half a Canola crop around here. And despite the relentless heat, we received decent rains, so I can’t imagine yields were higher where they got less than half the rain.

Can anybody put a number on how much canola has been exported or how much export sales are reported?

STATSCAN AND USDA are at 12.6 MMT - I'm at 12.4 MMT

You sure Viterra is not using 14.5 as total supply because that makes more sense...

Vittera has it as Canadian production. They have world canola production down 1 mmt from the last 2 years.

                      Then this below their chart
2021 Canada canola supply is 14.8 million tonnes* we are expecting to export 4.5 million tonnes and crush 8-9 mmt. Generally, we crush and export 50/50. Crush continues to be a major buyer as canola is over-valued to other importers. Crush sector growth will continue to be strong as it has access to multiple margin streams (meal, oil)
Four expansions/builds have been announced in Canada in 2021

                      I can’t post their chart
