Rather than getting wound up in thinking the convoy is going to solve their problems, those same people would be better use their time constructively.

Namely, realizing we just went through an election a few months ago and we won't have another for at least a couple of years. Best for these people to decide how they are going to unite the right so they can beat the Liberals. Because PPC will cost the Cons more seats every election, revoking both to 3rd and 4th party rankings.

The fact that a lot of the Con leading members like Bergen and Pierre are supporting the convoy, is a very stupid PR move when this goes violent. They won't be able to walk back from it and they are supposed to be the saving grace of the party? These were the same people that wanted native protestors arrested for blocking rail and oil lines...but not convoys clogging up off/on ramps of highways in Toronto?

The smart move for the Cons would have been to stay neutral...but they love to dig their own political graves apparently.

At the convoy passing through Brandon there were four families (I recognized) participating whose grandfathers were conscientious objectors during WW2. They were there with semis and cowboy cadillac diesel pickups with "freedom" signs and flags to a country that allowed the ancestors immigration but they wouldn't go when called to defend. Hypocrisy? Yeah. In spades.

Some of the organizers and conservative leadership are trying to tamp down the rehetoric and extremists. How succesfull they will be in keeping a lid on the worst case scenario is yet to be seen.

It's clear now the Conservative brand is badly fractured and there are several parties within the CPC and the conservative side of politics.

The Liberals will be rubbing their hands together with glee at the prospect of a very divided Conservative opposition and the possibilty that what happens on Saturday will further weakens the CPC.
