Those of us who farm, are very fortunate that we can totally remove ourselves from society, take a deep breath, and recharge our batteries.

A show of hands if your batteries get drained by liberals, making you need that recharge from time to time?

I agree, society is restless like I’ve never seen it before.

I blame Canada’s first woman groping prime minister.

Media makes it a big deal.
I even enjoy some KD Lang. Not like she is going to convince me to quit eating meat or it makes any difference to her if I carry around a hate for her.
They are just entertainers to me.
Same. I don't rely on unqualified entertainers to shape my opinion on any subject. I can enjoy their entertainment and ignore their ill-informed political raving. I could care less about their race or gender or politics. If I got offended and quit listening to or watching an entertainer every time they say or do something I disagree with, I would soon be entertaining myself, because there would be no one else left on the approved list.

Similar to Chuck on here. I disagree with virtually everything he says and stands for, but he is still really entertaining to engage with, always coming up with some new jokes to keep us all entertained. So I keep reading and responding. Better than any of the professional comedians.

              My theory.
People have not changed and will not until an evolutionary event occurs.
Media hasn't fundamentally changed. Editorials and political processes over time show this. Logically media, and politics, is a function of human nature, which has not changed.
Communication speed and efficiency is the game changer. Instantly affecting and broad audience reaching. And yet remote and not in person, non consequential.
Placing, like at no other time, responsibility on the individual.
Never before has the individual been a multiplier as today.
To slow down the process and allow reason to formulate, everyone would need to pause an appropriate length of time before responding to input.
It would look different if at least one hour would pass before we texted, or posted, anything.
Perhaps some obvious nonsense wouldn't ever get a reaction and therefore wither.
As leaders we could all exhibit measured reason to incite.
              Not easy I know.

For 90% of the threads on this god forsaken hell site, nearly all the political posts on S.M., and near 100% of the air time for news casts (commercials included), all that comes to mind is:

Interesting I was watching Bloomberg with a Chinese commentator talking about the CCP and upcoming Olympics… the social justice issues China glosses over with little to no regard to ‘human rights’ as we know them in our Western ‘Civilization’

                    His answer was this:

Harvard University did a study about the satisfaction of the Chinese citizens last year and found Polling results were 93% of Chinese citizens were happy with their countries (China)policies and government performance…

In the USA same questions, answers were 29% satisfied with their government’s direction and performance. Tough to think Canadian citizens would be any more satisfied with Any level of Our Government performance…

Soooo no surprise that we (our western civilization) are Spoiled Rotten in North America and the EU…especially…

Cheers! Life is a state of mind…

                    Blessings and happy marketing!!!

It’s would appear that farming 101 is very well informed. Some others, maybe not so much. A little kindness, consideration and respect amongst posters would go a long ways right now in these challenging times. Just saying. Salute.

I would agree with that statement Jwab and would add that perhaps it is those that believe that THEY are the most informed truly have the most to LEARN. That would apply to both sides of this divisive debate. Interpretation driven by ideology

Last I checked freedom of speech still exists, albeit heavily under attack. For farming101 to support that censorship exposes his insecurities. You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.
