In response to Helmsdales excellent post:
For 90% of the threads on this god forsaken hell site, nearly all the political posts on S.M., and near 100% of the air time for news casts (commercials included), all that comes to mind is:
are you not entertained.
Perhaps we should all read the following creed out loud every day before posting on or reading Agriville.
1) I am an anonymous poster on an obscure farming forum with a small handful of readers.
2) Almost without exception, all of the other posters already have their minds made up, nothing I say will make one iota of difference to them.
3) No one from government or industry of any consequence is going to read what I post today and change the world as a result.
4) Unless I am a 12 year old girl, I will not end every sentence with LOL.
5) I am going to assume that my grandmother, grandkids, boss, etc. will eventually read everything I post today, without anonymity.
6) Sometimes, someone on the internet will be wrong, they may like it that way, and the result of accepting that can be far more entertaining than trying to prove them wrong. see #2 above.
7) Difference of opinion is what makes a debate interesting.
8) The best, most constructive outcome of my contribution here today is that I learn something, to have any higher expectations than that is to guarantee disappointment.
9) If I think that my message is so vitally important that I need multiple alias's and find the need to hijack every topic with my message, then perhaps this isn't the appropriate venue for such an important message, See #1 above.
10) And the last one. It is not censorship if the staff at Home Depot keeps asking me to use the public washrooms instead of the display toilets. I won't post covid topics in a commodity marketing forum.
With apologies to those few well respected public figures here who don't hide behind screen names, and bring actual relevant information to the forum. Errol, Larry, Trent, etc.
And I will take my own advice from #2, and suggest that this post will not do one iota of good...
