I didn't hear this from the horses mouth......

Some felt that to only have a convoy, the message would not be heard and nothing
would get done. The convoy was about more than to be vaccinated or not.

We participated because we agreed with the cause.
We removed ourselves from the situation before the border because I don't agree
with blockades. Everyone is entitled to their own judgement-or we used to be.

Again, nothing on the news about all the people that lined the route waving flags
and waving in support. Maybe a plebiscite needed?

I have heard rumours?? of an increased police presence and large tow trucks at
Milk River. I'm thinking that if you are wanting to help, there will be opportunities
to donate as I think there are lawyers hired.

You mean like how an unvaccinated person is not happy with mandates, as they are just trying to do make a living and provide for their family but instead got fired?

Im struggling a bit with this blockade at the border... Numerous issues.

        1) Im reasonably certain Coutts/Sweetgrass is the only authorized port of entry for live animals in/out for AB. While that may not necessarily have direct issues with regards to food security here in AB, it certainly affects feedlot bottom lines. One would also hope that for the sake of "animal welfare" anything live currently sitting in line has been allowed to turn around and offload at point of origin.

        2) Coutts is the only crossing that allows 62,500kg weight limits from Shelby MT, into AB. Shelby being on the BNSF mainline is currently the rail terminus for a pile of bovine feed that is coming into AB feedlots via truck. Also a respectable amount of fertilizer comes off the BNSF line into AB as well. All again, at 62,500kg, rather than any other port of entry which would only allow ~48,300kg gross.

        3) The majority of the fresh produce for grocery stores in AB, is coming up I15, and across at Coutts via california or negalis mexico.

While I do not necessarily disagree with the motives of the protesters, It's hard not to notice that Albertans are going to suffer the brunt of this. Now perhaps this is the pressure necessary to change a few minds in Edmonton, but it certainly isn't raising any eye-brows in Ottawa, or anywhere else in the country.

And to reiterate, I have no dog in the vaccine fight. But I am fuming mad about the double standard towards these hard working people who are standing up for their rights.
In recent years when the scum of the earth antifa and career protesters hijacked the blm, native and resource development protests, and turned them violent by blocking pipelines, highways, railroads, city centers, burning churches, desicrating statues, vandalizing property, leaving masses of garbage, accosting citizens etc, and the media, the politicians and law enforcement turned a blind eye, yet now they are threatening to pull out all the stops against hard working law abiding citizens peacefully protesting injustice.

          I am motivated.

This public forum may not be the ideal place to discuss plans, but please contact me if anyone can help organize.
It has been a while since I have been across at Coutts but generally it is farmland on both sides of the highway especially immediately east of the border crossing itself. Likely owned by a colony. The Coutts townsite is to the NW of the border crossing. Rocky Mountain equipment has a dealership right along the highway in Milk River that is about 20 km from the border. An idea may be to make a call there and see if they would suggest a contact. More likely to find the sasquatch than a pro government sympathizer in that neck of the woods. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. Another thing we can do to help as farmers at the present time is to sell any remaining feed grain inventory in order that livestock producers can access feed for the animals. Trudeau is a cancer that has to go.

Kenny can lift a mandate as a gesture of goodwill anytime. Its coming anyway, why delay it. There is nothing left to gain for anyone. He has a leadership review in a couple months.

The message should be to Kenny that albertans are in a fighting mood whether that be covid or oil.

Yes unfortunately Kenney has shown himself not to be on our side. He has a lot of power to end this but has refused to do so. From what I understand, the only way the feds can impose a quarantine at the border is under the quarantine act under which the feds must have the approval of the provinces. The premier can inform the feds that he does not think a quarantine is necessary entering AB and then the jab mandate does not have any teeth.

RCMP taking ‘further action’ on trucker blockade at U.S. border in southern Alberta

RCMP say “further action” is being taken on a convoy of trucks and other vehicles that has been blocking a major United States border crossing.

Many officers and provincial sheriffs are at the blockade at Coutts, Alta., talking with demonstrators, some who have driven away.

An RCMP helicopter is also flying overhead.

Mounties say the illegal blockade has been impeding access for emergency vehicles and affecting the flow of goods and services.

They say they are prepared to make arrests and tow vehicles.

The blockade started Saturday in conjunction with other convoys across the country to protest COVID-19 measures.

I think that's what Kenney tried to do last week saying that the mandates will be lifted hopefully March or before. I think he was trying to get ahead of the protest /convoy rally. If he were to lift anything in response to an illegal blockade that would be just foolish as every special interest group going forward would pull a stunt to get what they want.

Ford and Kenny just sealed their political fate today. Say hello to Notley 2.0.

Country just died today. Any blue collar worker should leave immediately to greener pastures.

Edit in: looks like some farmers getting involved in the dust up now.

Some videos on twitter and other social media showing a bunch of tractors (many with cultivators etc behind) have pulled in and are blocking the cops and tow trucks.
The truckers had been letting trucks go through that were hauling livestock etc but the cops and border guards basically stopped that and are blaming the truckers!!
Farm pickups with fuel tanks going through ditches to bring in food and fuel as cops wouldn't let any supplies through.
And now the crossing is completely shut down.

You might want to check the time stamp on those twitter and social media posts. This is a livestream from Coutts this afternoon when the RCMP moved in to begin the removal of the blockade.

A friend who IS THERE with a tractor sent me pics and video as of 15 min ago!!!
He said about 12 cops are messing around with one truck and have been for 30 min. He said if they do try and do something with it there is no place for them to go now.
One tow company that was there just pulled out and said they aren't coming back.
So I think city wide towing may be the only company left??
Once its dark they will have to quit and try again tomorrow but it sounds like alot of reinforcements may show up by then?

So you think the blockade will disappear the minute the cops move in. It will take a long time as everyone needs to be checked and ticketed. Furthermore, the blockade is over a mile long. So definately could be a full blockade down the road from where action is taken. Watch the live stream if you don't think this is happening right now.

If they do get ticketed then everyone who blockaded the railways should be ticketed .... as should be the one guy with the Swastika flag and the confederate flag and any other disrespectful protester, actually with the huge amount of police presents there those handful should have been arrested. they did not not represent the 98% or more that were there just to have their voices heard peacefully . Same with the handful of radicals that attended the pipeline protests. Where was the outrage then ??
fact is the very vast amount of supporters and protesters across this country and in Ottawa were peaceful and respectful regardless if you agree or not. Many have been cleaning the monuments, sidewalks and around parliament hill the past few days.

good try, but the blockade will be removed under Bill 1, Protecting Critical Infrastructure which was passed in law IN ALBERTA by the Kenney government on June 17, 2020 after (and because of the rail blockade which ended 5 months earlier). It is a provincial law and carries no weight in Ottawa.. Kenney and Switzer have both acknowledged in last 2 days the blockade was illegal based on Bill 1. So if the RCMP decides to charge anyone, they will go to court and fine for the 1st offense is up to $10,000.00
