I would love to see our impotent military try to remove these guys (and their new US reinforcements) in front of cameras.

How about this for an idea for de-escalation.
Agree to dismantle the blockades in exchange for releasing of the GoFundMe money and no criminal charges.
And take the GoFundMe money and offer $100 a day to every truck driver who is willing to go on strike. By my account you could pay 10,000 truck drivers $100 a day for 10 days. They can all go and sit at home peacefully not bothering anyone. I somehow think the inconvenienced folks in Ottawa may be begging a trucker to come back and fill their fuel pumps and grocery store shelves.
No one would be breaking any laws. I expect uptake would be much higher.

Have seen confirmation of this from a couple different sources. Wonder what the game plan is. MLA's agree to eliminate mandates and restrictions and if Kenney doesn't get on board he get o'tooled on Apr 9. Will have to scrounge up some bucks to get this done. Would like to see Apr 9 moved sooner.

How is a provincial gov going to remove Federal restrictions?

Back benchers making deals - ya right.

Well by that time omicron is supposed to be
Over the hump to the point a lot will be opened
In fact I’m the next 2 to 3 weeks. So why all
This garbage when it’s coming anyway.

So why did politicians pick the trucker vaccine mandate as the hill to die on if what you say is true?

The truckers is a false flag let’s be real
The Americans have a mandate so
Doesn’t matter what we would have done.
On that front. This is a political movement.
I think everyone understands that don’t they?
The trucking industry was dealing with this fine.
Ironically this will cause more disruptions and
Shortages than what we had before.

Omicron has been rising here and predicted
To peak soon so if that happens
Things should go the other way.

A lot of people were fined big dollars I think
Thsts a lot of motive also.

The fact Kenney and Moe weren’t gone after
As aggressively speaks volumes that this is
A political stunt more than anything

What’s to stop any other group from
Going to Ottawa or Saskatchewan leg and demand a
Change back? Or what if the natives went and
Demanded all the land back or a trillion dollars
                    and wouldn’t leave
Until government resigned??? This would set a
Precedent that would lead us to constant chaos
That’s why people fought for right to vote to change
Laws. You can’t just appoint yourself the law changer
And certainly not by some that don’t represent
The majority by a wide margin.

Did u mean Trudeau. He did exactly that.

He is the one doubling down. Interprovincial passes next. No it stops here and now.

the golf ball hasn't even been hit and you're calling it a hole in one.

I must have missed something last I checked
He won the election by a minority and has
Enough support by other parties to make these
Laws??? Or are we not a democracy?

The provinces is a joke like I said these changes are
                          Likely coming anyway.

Tell what changes for the truckers with the USA
Having the same law? Even. If we changed that law.

                          The argument is incoherent

In a statement, United Conservative Party caucus chair Nathan Neudorf said no such agreement has been authorized. He said a meeting of the UCP’s rural caucus scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday is not to discuss lifting the REP, which requires patrons at certain businesses to be immunized.

“ As (Premier Jason Kenney) has stated , Alberta will begin lifting restrictions very soon, likely within days, starting with the REP,” Neudorf said.

I do agree with you big wheel. If government gives in to their demands, it sets a dangerous precedent that basically becomes mob rule.
Except there is one huge difference. All the other groups who have protested in this country haven't got a dime to rub together or an asset to seize and if they stay indefinitely the productive members of society won't even notice their absence.
This group of people are business owners and hard working, vital to all aspects of the economy and daily life.
They have everything to lose. If they get sued or if their trucks get impounded indefinitely or damaged, they could lose their business. Contrast that with the typical paid protesters, what would the police do impound the skateboard they rode in on?
These folks do have the ability to cripple the entire country by doing nothing but going home, as they ae being asked to do.
The vaccine mandate may have been the straw that broke the camel's back for some of these people. But there are a myriad of other poor policy decisions that will surface once they realize they do have a voice.

Let's assume that this does escalate. Trucks get vandalized, or impounded, people go to jail or get injured or worse. During what was already a crisis in the trucking industry, that will only make it much worse having even more drivers and trucks out of commission. Supply chain disruptions will cause real hardships.

On the opposite end of that spectrum. Say antifa comes and camps out in Ottawa to demand an end to all resource extraction. And if they all end up being arrested and their skateboards broken, do you think commerce will come to an end in this country?
