Funny how the trucker convey set out to disrupt Parliament Hill and the CPC party is the one left in shambles now.
Pierre must be real popular with his Ottawa constituents right about after backing the so called trucker convey.
Is it any wonder they can't beat the Liberals.

Few locals talking today. Sure would be a great time for MacKay to independently raise the Progressive Conservative Party from the dead. He could definitely nab votes from both Liberals and Cons here. With a dedicated socially progressive platform, he might even nab NDP votes.

I really worry with O’Toole gone about the conservatives chances of forming government again but is this infighting just the far right vs centrist or is it a poor job of O’Toole to unite the party or be a good leader? He wasn’t prime minister material. Capable politician for sure but he didn’t have the gravitas on top of his waffling to find his message mid election. Scheer was the typical fence turtle. He had the gravitas of an ashtray. Neither of them won the leadership with wide support. So how could you really expect them to do anything when they weren’t widely popular with the membership let alone the electorate at large? I’d be all for a McKay type to come in and steer the party back to an electable Conservative party and tell the fringe to shape up or ship out. I don’t think bending over to get bernier back is worth it but I could be wrong.

WR - "...shape up or ship out..."
Umm, I think that's exactly what Otoole tried to do?
And who got shipped out?
Maybe the next leader should be listening to the message that's coming from the grassroots if she or he wants to accomplish something?
Maybe the next leader should pay attention to how it's worked out to have 3 leftwing parties?
Maybe the new Conservative party leader should understand that it's a terrible idea to be a clone of the most hated and ineffective prime minister in the history of this country?

Maybe it's time for the faux conservatives to shut up and get out of the way of healing this country.
Maybe it's time for them to admit that they are conservative in name only, wanting the benefit of conservatism, but not the cost of deep principle.
Maybe they need to understand that they are fooling themselves by believing they are the global conscience they presume to be.
Sanctimonious turds. Some just more obvious and obnoxious than others.

Legault's tough dictator facade crumbles in the prospect of the convoy that's heading his way. Not surprising for a ruthless bully when faced with something bigger.
Already canceled his diabolical tax grab he was going to spring on those who refused the clot shot.
Now says he will meet with the convoy - too late?
His implosion has huge implications for the Coward of the Cottage since it indicates that the Quebec cabal is the latest rat to flee the sinking Globalist ship.
When the Coward loses Quebec, he's lost his base.
The only tool left for the Sock Puppet is outright force.
Being a incorrigible narcissist, his ego will not let him back down.
And all the momentum is on the convoy's side.
Watch out Canada.Last edited by burnt; Feb 3, 2022, 04:33.

LL would make a great top position in the CPC, but not leader. Her french is brutal and sucked at the debates.
This is really only PP or Mckay if he wants it.
Otool is fine as well, just not as leader. Comes off as wishy wash to the base and out of touch old guy with the people he is trying to convince.

The problem conservatives have is simple enough.
There is still a perception that if you hold personal viewpoints, that means you are going to impose them on all Canadians. In reality, only liberals do that.
So you end up with scheer. He believes in not killing babies before birth. This is pointed out by the media, and the left as somehow brutally out of touch. He fails to explain CLEARLY, that his personal thoughts will not affect policy. Harper was able to do that well. Harper won. Scheer couldn’t recover.
Preston manning had a whole chapter in his book, on the ability and the need to separate ones faith from serving politically in Canada. Our society is scared of these debates, and therefore no one is going to reopen them, despite the left always using it as a boogey man. Despite the left being the ones who bring their personal beliefs, or non beliefs I should say, into politics.
Who withheld government funding from christians, implicitly because of what they believe in? Trudeau.
Did Harper withhold funding from atheists based on what they wouldn’t attest to? Can you even imagine?
You believe in God, no money for you. Trudeau. This actually happened.
You don’t believe in God, no money for you. Harper? This never happened.
So the new leader, if socially more conservative, has to come out swinging and make their views clear, and explain how this will not affect their policy. That Canadians are not going back to the 1950’s. Explain it multiple times, repeatedly.
But first, the CBC and the msm needs to lose their cash, because I blame them almost entirely, on making this the wedge issue, non issue that freaks enough Canadians out to swing the tide to the liberals.
It’s really that simple. Harper had 9 years to end abortion. He had 9 years to enact his “hidden agendaâ€. And he did nothing of the sort. Canadians are not Americans. We have a much more shallow Bible believing history. In my view abortion can not be touched. Extremely sad personally, but it is where we are right now as a nation.
Me? I would love to ban abortion and gay “marriageâ€, and get our countries morals back on track. But that is not something to be done with legislation. Those are my personally held beliefs. You don’t impose personally held beliefs on the citizenry. I understand that. Manning understood that. Harper understood that.
Now, if we could just get liberals and the media to understand this, we could have conservatives continually in position to form government.
Most Canadians are conservative in most things. They simply don’t know it because of the fake wedge issues driven in by the left and the media.
Leslyn Lewis talks about removing abortion based on gender. The vast majority of Canadians do not believe in gender selective abortion. Just one example of what I mean. But the left and the media will twist this into being out of touch…
