The same hypocrites who watched BLM burn it down and called to defund the police are now against protests and calling for a riot squad and the military to break it up.
Canadians should be ashamed.

So after almost 2 days, and 91 posts, I just read through the thread. No one even commented directly on my original suggestion. Only 7 likes of the original post, and none of those are by the radical left on here,
who are the ones calling for law and order to prevail.
While I didn't expect much disagreement with my stance, I certainly thought there might be some support, especially by the left, but they won't even acknowledge. Now I expect as much from Chuck, he only responds to me if I bait him with something that he can use to call me a flat earther, but the more moderate, intellectual and literate on his side are also quiet.
Does no one else support the police in these trying times? Does no one else have any sympathy for the impossible position they are being put in? The actions of a few over eager police in Ottawa are tarring the reputation of all the police across the country.
Has anyone else voiced their support to their local law enforcement?
Edit, another suggestion, as if anyone is listening to me.
Take the crowd sourced money, or start another campaign, and use it to support any police involved in the protests who want to resign in protest. Pay their living expenses, help with their legal fight to either get their jobs back after this is over, or to sue the higher ups who tried to force them into unethical actions.
See how many can be convinced to stand up for their own ethics. It wouldn't take very many before the authorities would realize they don't have the confidence of the forces, and a peaceful negotiated resolution would be the only way out.Last edited by AlbertaFarmer5; Feb 9, 2022, 09:40.

It is an untenable situation these officers are in. From watching videos from Ottawa and what some of the level headed people are saying, the police are doing what they are told and the most part a lot of what you see in the media as far as police actions is more of a publicity stunt or intimidation tactics. The whole fuel seizure thing with snipers on the roof was meant as intimidation or the mention of sending child services in etc. Enough of these tactics but when vast majority of protesters give the officers no trouble and are nice to them how can they beat their skulls in? It is pure theatre for the authorities and Trudeau himself and which officers are the pawns. How does that make them feel?

I didn't think there would be any dissenting opinions on this matter. It seemed quite non-partisan and non divisive, I guess I was wrong.
