No question, a poor allocation of resources.
What do they expect is going to change after watching for 2 weeks.
The protesters arn't taking the bait.

Ottawa police have 1800 members and they call in 1600 RCMP who are already short staffed by sometimes 32% because nobody wants a job that the PM doesn't support.
Ask your MP's why they are there?
wife said she read that if they bring in 1600 more cops the truckers will bring in 20,000 more protesters !

And you think the government isn't aware of this? (Does LOL fit here?)

There's a reason the Sock Puppet walked out of the House yesterday.

Ottawa mayor Jim Watson said it doesn't matter what the city response is, the convoy is always a step ahead. Don't worry Jim, just 2 weeks. We're all in this together.

Yesterday I spoke with a young woman who was down there the past 2 weekends and her report was just amazing. The truckers are getting huge support from both walk-ins and from city people.

They have set up food kitchens all over and the homeless have flocked to them and the atmosphere is 100% positive. Now the homeless have taken up the cause and are doing grounds maintenance, keeping the snow shoveled wherever they can, helping to clean up - there's no litter anywhere.

Just like BLM did, right? (Does LOL fit here?)

There's more food around than what can be consumed. Everything is free. There are tables with clothes and small-item necessities that the homeless, or anyone, can "shop" at. Free. She watched one chap go along the tables and pick a few select items up and put them into his shopping bag. They appreciate this immensely.

The cops came in, media all around shooting video, took some fuel cans away. When the media was gone, they brought some of it back.

She said that what you see on the news is staged and lies. The media doesn't seem to have a good perspective. (Does LOL fit here?)

She also said that there are some locals who just flip right out when they encounter a protester. The common denominator among the screamers? They're all boomers who have never had a challenge in their lives.

The convoy seems to have put some thought into their effort. And Jim seems to have a problem handling that.

So there are more locals all the time who are coming behind this movement.

I'm happy about the horns being shut down. This can only help the cause.

The contrast is rich - BLM, which the drama teacher supported, looting and burning, creating chaos.

The freedom movement - giving away free goods, feeding the homeless, cleaning up, standing guard around the memorials, keeping the snow shoveled away from them...

And who gets the bad rap?

Look at these grifters trying so hard to hang on to the narrative. Just shameless.

If anyone has any doubt about what a violent protest looks like, or is confusing these charitable truckers with actual terrorist protesters. I highly suggest reading Andy Ngo's book, or reading his Twitter or the various articles about him. Here is an article about the two times antifa nearly killed him and the death threats he receives for daring to expose their terrorist activities.
Andy Ngo had a bounty on his head and the threats increased throughout the year as he systematically documented who was arrested and charged at every riot.

Anyone who has the ignorance and audacity to compare the current situation to previous BLM protests needs a history lesson.

Looks like we have some more political dead men and women walking. Wonder what the protests will look like this weekend.

Ambassador Bridge closed which has about 300 million dollars of goods travelling both ways daily, and all the so called capitalist of Agriville can come up with is the illegal blockade is peaceful.

Major Auto companying missing parts, workers being send home and production lines are being shut down.

Canadian workers not being able to go their jobs across the border.

Oh, shit I forgot it's Ontario, so it's ok.

It's all good for the Keyboard Freedom Fighters, sitting around sipping their morning coffees at the kitchen table.

Ya but your all happy, that $10.00 donation gets your participant ribbon.

I agree, trudeau has to go. He's way beyond his best before date. I also think the convoy/protests are getting stale. Public support will only decline as workers are laid off and shelves get thinner. So how do you see things in 6 months? Demographics aren't going to change so the best you can hope for is another minority government. Government transparency is not realistic to hope for. Canada has the strongest party discipline in the Commonwealth so the leader calls all the shots. The Maverick Party is a joke. The USA will not want western separatists because that would legitimize separatist elements in their country. So I'll ask again - what's the end game? Spoiler alert: John Galt is a fictitious character and has no counterpart in reality.

The vote for hair and name crowd will have nobody to vote for. They will be looking for a home.

No more treasury money to toss around for an election.

Be a much different outcome this time. I predict CPC minority.

I think you could see a CPC minority depending who is the next leader and how badly jt continues to screw up. Given that the aim of a minority is to build support for a majority, what will change?
