Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

    Honk Honk that’s for chuck!

Boom 💥 Boom soy up 25 cents wheat up 10 cents and canola a few cents everything except oats is on a tear.

Our first canola pricing option is for March and I’m Just a few cents away from $25.00 but then I’ll probably want. $28. But hey my reports from guys on the ground In Argentina and Brazil is the USDA is high on what the awful growing season will give. No surprises this year the soy crop is down from 144 to maybe 124. Corn also down wheat so so.

I jumped to early on the 19 for next fall should of waited for 20.

Still dry in usa as rain didn’t get the dry areas last week.

In canada we have snow north of the valley and east but it’s snow.

I have a question do farmers have any rights. Yes contracts were taken and farmers were short product but if grain company takes 4 to 5 months to take a contract is the contract null and void? Every contract they give out is all for them and nothing for their customers.

Cat is coming home from north of Edmonton found a trucking company to bring it.

RB auction is on in Florida at the end of the month and equipment is coming in every day will have report live from sale.

It’s the Florida state fair might go the food looks awesome.

Traffic in Florida is bad and getting worse so many people are loving here. Taxes are low and it’s a free red state. Funny blue states are now dropping mandates. Biden will drop his trucker mandate real soon he doesn’t want what’s happening in canada. Skippy on the other hand is a stubborn stupid French man he won’t budge but a few more liberals walk out on him and the liberals might take him out. They used the name and now need to distance themselves from it. It’s happening behind closed doors the adults are coming back to take the kids out.

Very large antique tractor show, with swap meet and even a museum with old dealerships like the 60s and 70s made like a twin with a bank store everything. It’s on 320 acres.

I left a week ago and it’s good to not have to wear a masks, go to restaurants with no QR code and guess what if you want to wear one no one cares wear it it’s up to you and those who don’t no problem it’s up to them. Real simple get back to a normal life and learn to live with this.

Rocket launch today it’s actually a NASA one at 3 pm might go and watch.

Elon has problems with his 49 satellites 44 got hit by a storm in space and are dropping to earth. Might be a delay in spring hook up with starlink.

Land is still going up in price and rent. I don’t think we peaked yet. Lots looking to buy very few sellers.

X9 day today to learn about the combine and get a meal. I didn’t fly home others will go.

Funny it’s the second month of the year and our MIA FED AG minister is not at work couldn’t care about agriculture in canada she is a failure. Getting paid to do **** all. All farm groups doing nothing as usual.

Seeding intentions since it’s less than 90 days away.

    5000 canola
    4000 wheat
    600 peas
    400 Barley

    Crop that’s dropping acres barley.

Looking for 1000 acres or 2000 more.

Funny getting calls from private crop insurance they need guys on the east side to balance the west. Looks reasonable but waiting for Sask crop yo come out with numbers and price.

Ag Stab sucks Ag Invest should be doubled.

Have a great week the weather and temp looks good at home.

Be safe and talk to your neighbours.

There is a good tiki bar with a huge outdoor deck in CoCo Beach you can see the launch pad from.
At one of the big chain hotels.

      Wish I was there.

Best price around here for canola is just pennies over $24, where are you seeing $25.00 canola?

Don't know your order date for combines and headers but even ours ordered at the end of the early order 2 program are looking dicey if we have another ultra early harvest. Currently have June 21 tractors still anywhere from 1 to 2 months out and a loader that's maybe May.Got told the other day 4 wheel drives ordered now may be after seeding. In 2023!!

It still doesn’t make sense seeing how most is going to the Lethbridge crushing plant, are you guys just that much closer to a crusher?
Richardson has been a dog on Canola this winter I've got better prices at times from companies that don't even have a crush plant which makes no sense.

Why Moe just didn’t implement no masks or wear them if you want the other day baffles me. Oh well that’s all I’m saying on this topic. I’m thinking two years of this is well beyond enough by now.

Hey SKF we might just get that $15 for wheat. Up real nice today, hopefully this trend keeps going. Realistically $15 could be a push, but one never knows. Durum took a THUD last wk, one place went from $18 to $15 basically overnight. Enough to give a guy a heartache. They put the price up to $17.50 other day for “limited tonnage “ (my favourite two words in grain marketing scheme) then quickly back to $15. Going to be a long climb back to $20 for those that still want that price. The pipeline is likely full from panic selling, so would think the bins must be getting empty with only half the crop last yr.

Interesting yr ahead to see what get seeded. She’s bone dry in a large part of the country. Crop insurance will be followed very closely. Some may farm for the programs. Cost are going to be through the roof.
We have to buy a new tire for our Bourgault tank .... a nice $6k bill. You can’t find a used one as Bourgault and Goodyear work together to make you have to buy a new of that size. Absolutely insane price!!
We need these commodity prices to keep operating at these expense levels. Wouldn’t put money on that. New crop prices are far below what we are getting now.

Andjelic is bullish on land prices, well I should tell him what I want see how bullish his face gets. Personally I wouldn’t be looking for land this spring to rent or buy, especially not rent. Costs way too high margins will be about as thin as 8x10 loose leaf paper.

Thx SKF for your Florida crop report, hope your grass and trees are doing well.

It’s a basis we have plus right to crusher and I did it when they were looking hard for canola. Now it’s coming in by rail or from other companies by truck. Just watch the truck ahead of you at the scale and the name comes up.

Yes I have a spot along a causeway I can back the Yukon into open the back up and watch without cops saying you can’t.

It’s hard to believe but some trees do lose their leaves down here in winter even if it’s warm most days. Frost browns your grass and hurts plants it’s winter still but come March all of a sudden it wakes up.

Red tractors I hear ordered for April delivery are now into August. Likely after harvest.

X9’s I hear on schedule. Lots of them may not come with all bells and whistles.

                    Macdon don’t ask.

The X9's are in the range of where they said they would be and yes they were muttering something about the high speed camera's I just said I don't pay for incomplete machines we will have to see however HDF's have moved back at least a month from our original build date so far is what we've been told.
Saw some 20 and 21 X9 1100's on kijji at dealerships in Northern AB , Currently happy we traded when we did based on what they are asking for the used.

Our three are on schedule and I will your factory on my way home in late March or April.

Boom grain started out awesome then had a nap and fu k me they are down.

I don’t think anything broke up or down but you aren’t gaining soy or corn with South American issues and a rain in Saskatchewan in February isn’t a drought buster.

Actually I remember one year it rained so hard late or early March water was running like a summer rain.

Missed launch got some awful heartburn and was sleeping I guess it’s time to get back to eating more healthy and maybe have a few less drinks. Cool today here grass and hibiscus taking a beating every day.

We should be blue, but aren’t.

I agree we should be blue with over 6 inches since August
