trudeau is done , that is a momentous achievement
Lets see what this weekend brings. New protest in Toronto. I am sure they are happy as a clam to be locked down still while other provinces opened up.

The latest report report says they missed close to 200000 votes. too bad so sad was the response from elections Canada.
While it really is insignificant in western Canada , in the east it can turn seat results.

And what is the demand? It started out as a vaccine mandate for truckers. That has ended in Alberta but Coutts protestors say not enough for them to leave so what exactly will end this as far as the protestors are concerned? Is there any demand short of the fall of the current government that protestors will acceopt? If not then this is an economic coup attempting an overthrown of a democratically elected government.
What I saw from those days is that for many people with a gripe, they knew they probably were not going to get their way but the fact they were not ignored and were listen to, smoothed the water a lot. Beyond the west we are seeing leadership now in places like Quebec acknowledging that change in the covid response is needed. IMO until Trudeau changes his tune it's going to be a shit show. I find the Liberal mp voices starting to be heard in their disagreement with Trudeau very telling and I believe for every mp that has the courage to speak up there is probably lots that feel the same.
The anger and concern that the protests are going too far with factory shutdowns is not going to swing public support of continued covid restrictions. They are just going to be mad at the truckers and the powers that be that won't deal with this properly.

If truckers are called terrorists but your " just in time" delivery relies on them, it seems someone had better rethink the way business is done.
2 phucking days and these plants are dead in the water. yikes.
Farmers are told to buy inputs 6 months in advance for the next year.
And a guy hasn't been able to buy a truck without ordering it for a year now. Nothing on the lots that isn't sold pre arrival.

Some people have very short memories.
The world oil price fell starting in 2014 while Harper was still Prime Minster. It continued lower as China's rapid growth declined and other economies followed suit. Then covid hit and the most of the world was locked down causing even lower prices.
How low world prices are the fault of Trudeau needs an explanation. Does Canada control the world price of oil? Did Canada cause the US to increase its own production to high levels? Did Trudeau stopp all pipelines and expansions. Hell no he bought TMX for just that purpose.
Of course when the boom turns to bust in Alberta because of low oil prices, it is always a politicians fault in the minds of a few western separatists and other mal contents.
