And what is the demand? It started out as a vaccine mandate for truckers. That has ended in Alberta but Coutts protestors say not enough for them to leave so what exactly will end this as far as the protestors are concerned? Is there any demand short of the fall of the current government that protestors will acceopt? If not then this is an economic coup attempting an overthrown of a democratically elected government.
What I saw from those days is that for many people with a gripe, they knew they probably were not going to get their way but the fact they were not ignored and were listen to, smoothed the water a lot. Beyond the west we are seeing leadership now in places like Quebec acknowledging that change in the covid response is needed. IMO until Trudeau changes his tune it's going to be a shit show. I find the Liberal mp voices starting to be heard in their disagreement with Trudeau very telling and I believe for every mp that has the courage to speak up there is probably lots that feel the same.
The anger and concern that the protests are going too far with factory shutdowns is not going to swing public support of continued covid restrictions. They are just going to be mad at the truckers and the powers that be that won't deal with this properly.

If truckers are called terrorists but your " just in time" delivery relies on them, it seems someone had better rethink the way business is done.
2 phucking days and these plants are dead in the water. yikes.
Farmers are told to buy inputs 6 months in advance for the next year.
And a guy hasn't been able to buy a truck without ordering it for a year now. Nothing on the lots that isn't sold pre arrival.

Some people have very short memories.
The world oil price fell starting in 2014 while Harper was still Prime Minster. It continued lower as China's rapid growth declined and other economies followed suit. Then covid hit and the most of the world was locked down causing even lower prices.
How low world prices are the fault of Trudeau needs an explanation. Does Canada control the world price of oil? Did Canada cause the US to increase its own production to high levels? Did Trudeau stopp all pipelines and expansions. Hell no he bought TMX for just that purpose.
Of course when the boom turns to bust in Alberta because of low oil prices, it is always a politicians fault in the minds of a few western separatists and other mal contents.

So we are going to govern the country with blockades now?
The protestors are quickly losing the little bit of support they have.
Most people are working and don't have time to protest like this. Who are these protestors who can take weeks off?

FACT: The only people who can vote for Trudeau were those living in his riding in Quebec. In his riding he received 59% of the votes. The NDP candidate was second with 25% of the vote. The Conservative brought up the rear with just 5% of the vote.
Second, The Liberal party recieved 32.6% of the popular vote in last election. The Conservatives received 33.7%. Yes, the Conservatives won a higher percentage of the popular vote but neither received more than 50%. If you compare the popular votes on a left wing/right wing basis, the Left wing certainly outperformed the right wing
Third: None of the above matters because the parlimentary system in candidate is based on a riding system of electing the government. It all depends on who won the most seats and the Liberals won with 160 seats compared to the Conservatives with 116 seats so they formed the government
Finally, since the Liberals did not have a majority of seats, the opposition parties could have forced them out at any time if they did not agree with the direction the government was taking or felt they had more public support. None did, so here we are.

Trump still thinks he won the election and all the Republican states that turned against him were stolen because of electoral fraud.
He couldn't even twist the arm of Republican officials to lie. And he incited a mob to hang vice president pence and kill other representatives.

Only 60% of eligible voters voted in the last election and he won 31% of that. So whats that work out to? Plus we just found 200k uncounted votes.
He is an illegitimate PM. He does not have a mandate of any type.
