The guys that have any left are holding for 60 cents.
I let some go a while back (didn't get 60, but damn close!!).
It stores for ever and it could be another dry year?
Here there is dirt showing in worked areas and some hill tops in the barley stubble are bare after the last few days.
Very few guys left that grow consistent acres of canary year after year and/or put the inputs in to get a decent yield.
So without decent timely rains I don't see production next year increasing over the dismal 2021 yields??
I also do not see crop insurance "what if" #'s being favorable to Canary compared to wheat, canola, lentils, peas or even barley that can all handle dry ALOT BETTER than canary!!Last edited by ry0972; Feb 12, 2022, 00:47.
