Democratic, ya right, that’s quite the system where one person can invoke a measure that gives that one person dictatorial control.
The Emergencies act has to go before parliament at some point and the NDP support it, so it will pass.

That's how democratic oversite works. And then if voters still don't support it they can vote the Liberals out in the next election. That's how democracy works in Canada.

Doug Ford supports it and Ontario voters are important to any party's success and I am willing to bet that Doug Ford will win the next election in June even though he supports the Liberals Emergencies act.

Junior did say the measures would be geographically targeted, so basically that means anyone from Ab, again.

No Quebec truckers will be in jeopardy.

Even our emergency legislation lets the govt discriminate against the west.

Hope Singh enjoys his 15m. With a party debt of $7.5M he will send the NDP into oblivion next election.

“ The Emergencies Act, passed in 1988, requires a high legal bar to be invoked. It may only be used in an "urgent and critical situation" that "seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians". Lawful protests do not qualify.”

This can be debated till the second coming literally!

So you truly believe trudeau was justified in implementing the EMA?

And if so, you also don't mind the precedent this would set?

Apparently disagreeing with PM Trudeau... isn't 'a legal protest' as free speech has just been outlawed and censored.

Who would have thunk... Chuck must be proud!

The road to hell is paved with good intentions is an idiom or proverb. ... It is about the difference between what someone intends to do and what they actually do ...

Some how your speech is not being censored. There is no censoring of free speech. You are part of the problem.

Apparently I am ‘Part of the Problem’?

Censorship of a perfectly peaceful talk show interview from Skynew in Australia… is not censoring free speech?

You are very special Aggie… your consistency is noteworthy and consistent with your persistence to marginalize valid opinions that you judge to be subhuman.

                    Cheers

And exactly which God was he referring to. You lost the discussion when you start talking about religion. Might as well quote Mickey Mouse.

So the coutts blockade is over and i dont believe that any of the emergency measures that could have been used were used but i believe that it was the threat of them that was a fairly strong deterrent of ending it also. So what did it hurt? Ps. i cant stand Trudeau.

It had absolutely nothing to do with the emergency act. The participants did not want to be associated with the violent parties the rcmb had exposed. And the RCMP now had the tools to end it with their own tow trucks, and with the threat of violence now removed they were confident enough to go in. This would have ended exactly the same time and the same way with or without Trudeau interfering.

Were you part of the decision making? Or were you on speaker phone?

                            rcmb or is it RCMP?
