That's because they haven't told us the targeted details.

If you think Trudeau is a dictator you really need help. He can be voted out of office in the next election.

I thought you were a supporter of law and order? Hamloc you still support illegal blockades and occupations?

Where in my post did I say I didn’t support law and order. I did certainly say that what Justin Trudeau is doing is government over reach. Four provinces said they didn’t want the EMA. Ontario had already declared a state of emergency. There was no vote in Parliament in favour of enacting the EMA. The city of Ottawa made an agreement with the protesters to contain their protest to a certain area. Why was the EMA necessary? Government having the ability to unilaterally freeze bank accounts doesn’t concern you?

As for border blockades I have already stated I did not agree with the borders being shut down. Canada is a trading nation.

Your feeling a lot more secure today Chuck?
This is the way you think your country should be governed?
You think anyone with a vehicle parked in an arbitrarily designated zone deserves a parking ticket or thier bank acounts frozen? Who chooses?

          This should help:

Take the only people with the knowledge and skills and credentials to tow the vehicles, and put them in jail.

Keeping in mind that most tow truck drivers will also know most local law enforcement, because they often work together. And will have to work together in the future. Often in very unfortunate situations, that serves to strengthen the bond. Good luck convincing the police to enforce this.

              Q

Or maybe 3 weeks ago when the convoy left Surrey a local plumber donated $50. Now Ms Freeland freezes the company account? That's appropriate in this situation?

Mr Treudau seemed to have only 2 choices. Sit home and do nothing or revoke the rights of all Canadians?

Democratic, ya right, that’s quite the system where one person can invoke a measure that gives that one person dictatorial control.
The Emergencies act has to go before parliament at some point and the NDP support it, so it will pass.

That's how democratic oversite works. And then if voters still don't support it they can vote the Liberals out in the next election. That's how democracy works in Canada.

Doug Ford supports it and Ontario voters are important to any party's success and I am willing to bet that Doug Ford will win the next election in June even though he supports the Liberals Emergencies act.

Junior did say the measures would be geographically targeted, so basically that means anyone from Ab, again.

No Quebec truckers will be in jeopardy.

Even our emergency legislation lets the govt discriminate against the west.

Hope Singh enjoys his 15m. With a party debt of $7.5M he will send the NDP into oblivion next election.

                    jwab...

“ The Emergencies Act, passed in 1988, requires a high legal bar to be invoked. It may only be used in an "urgent and critical situation" that "seriously endangers the lives, health or safety of Canadians". Lawful protests do not qualify.”

This can be debated till the second coming literally!

If it was a legal protest.

So you truly believe trudeau was justified in implementing the EMA?

And if so, you also don't mind the precedent this would set?
