The closing down of the USA/Canada auto industry is a foregone conclusion. The USA has no need for Canada to be involved in this industry, other than to provide raw products ( which is what Canada has). Our tax system in Canada is killing all investment in Canada and now with “Wartimes Measures Act” in place the average American now sees nothing but Venezuela to the North. Talking to friends in the USA and they can’t believe our government would threaten to use its armed forces against its own citizens!!
For myself I could care less if my truck is built in Canada, USA, or Mexico!!!

      Would be interesting to know:
      - how many companies have relocated to the USA while skippy was driving?
      - how many jobs?

None of this matters to me if the new world order takes over as planned by 2030. There will be no borders and most people will not own a vehicle.

Just need some subsidies to get it all started.
And some subsidies to retrain all autoworkers
          And oilfield workers.
And the consumers of all of the above.

          Nothing to worry about.

Well , as a person who lives in SK. , this doesn't bother me. The way this country has been run since 2015 makes me think this country is too big to have under the same flag at times, and if line 5 would shut down , then maybe eastern Canada would start feeling some loooonnngggg overdue pain for a change.

Time to play some hardball with equalization payment as well. Regardless of legislation. Find a way to do it and make the trudeau liberals pay.

I love using justins name without capital letters. He doesn't deserve them.

It can go to zero for all I care. The manufacturing industry in this country was built off the stolen funds from NEP and equalization. Same as hydro.

I sit on trillions of resources that cant be moved or offshored.
No surprise here. The only industry and jobs that matter are in oil and gas? LOL

I would like to see the CPC run on that stupidity.

And equalization is a federal program paid for by all taxpayers, not just the petro centric ones in Alberta.

So manufacturing has never turned materials into something of value and we should just give it all up and put all our eggs into oil and gas? How did that go from 2014 -2020 when the world price of oil fell like a stone? Oh yeah I forgot it was all Trudeau's fault!

"Accounting for approximately $174 billion of our GDP, manufacturing represents more than 10% of Canada's total GDP. What is more, manufacturers export more than $354 billion each year, representing 68% of all of Canada's merchandise exports."

Oil and gas are a much small part of GDP than manufacturing.

Jazz you are as loony as they come.

Thats not very impressive chuck. Guess you failed econ 101. Canadas ag, mining and resource sectors where there is no value added at all to the end product, basically dug out or grown and sold to 3rd world countries, easily exceeds all of Canadas manufacturing base.

You have no clue what your country even is.

                Canadas largest industry is FIRE.

But we still don't need manufacturing jobs? LOL

Maybe now is a good time to throw out the possibility of the West or some segments in the West, leaving Canada.

How many in Ottawa would say good riddance right now !

That's the problem, skippy is driving illegally and he's still 15 years away from trying for his learners license.
