Filled her up at $1.14 today. To scared to wait for $1.50-$2.00. Scarier to think they may say sorry, we don’t have any to haul you come spring.

Have enough to seed and make hay. Just have to find some for fall. Tank can’t hold all that though. Got lucky and bought 2 years of engine and hydraulic oil needs at old stock prices.

I’m getting labelled as a hoarder by the wife though!

Figured rather than start a new one, I'd renew the old one...

Wasn't $1.21 diesel a steal of a deal not so long ago? Picked up a load of fertilizer this morning and drove past the Flying J... $1.969 for clear diesel. Only thing separating it from dyed is the carbon tax, which comes in at ~0.13/L less, so call it $1.839. Now with Flying J, especially north of the 49, you're paying for the use of their shower facilities, some free coffee and pizza and the general ease of use... Even if the price is 1.749 that's starting to eat a significant hole into guys pocketbooks transportation wise.

Friend that is hauling machinery with a 60ton double drop as well as grain has bumped his rates by $35/hr for machinery, and $.75/loaded mile for grain.

Differential is wild between gas and diesel right now.

US east coast is at all time lows for stockpiles of diesel. As of a couple days ago, there were 15+ states with $6.00/gal average prices or higher.

Just pulled a super-pass (petro canada cardlock) pricing report, and the low for ab/sk is $1.78 around ft saskatchewan, and the high is $2.10 north of fort mcmurray.

Yes it costs $2/mile just in fuel to roll loaded on 8 axles right now. I wouldn’t touch anything for less than $8/loaded mile.

What does it cost to move grain by rail? 1 or 2 engines pull a pile of cars.

Not sure. New diesel electric locomotive is $6M and 6000hp.
Trucks $250k now and a wait list.

                  I want to say this.

Had this country's leadership over the last few decades had any vision of the rail network , we might not be having this conversation today.

While I realize not every branch line could be saved, it sure seems stupid that in a time of increased and diversified commodity production , we had leadership that bought into making our product movement more complicated and expensive.

As an example , as much as I bitch about irrigation, at the time the project was being built that meant more production , the rail line serving the project area was torn out.

Now increased production is trucked a minimum of an hour to the nearest elevator.

                  That's just stupid.

it might be one of the last ??

Exactly, every single thing we need to live comes on a truck or rail .
WTF are these climate retards thinking ??
This whole carbon thing is such a farce and has been so completely way overblown for political gain it is now sickening.
Cart before the horse, and they are willing to kill the entire economy over a complete falsehood

It is simply , and always has been , a wealth distribution scam from the middle class to others above and below ….. those that champion it will wear it for their children and grandchildren unless they are in the top 1 % . Ffs , this has been clear as day for years if one never had political blinders on
A badge of honour for the likes of chuck and others to wear to their grave

Long live the UN 2030 ancc do Build back better…. Those who support it, you can own it
