What the NEP did to AB and the equalization fraud and now the carbon tax grab is akin to child abuse. You dont forget that and some marxist doctor who has had a govt paycheck his whole like doesnt get to comment.

Kenney is so far out of the loop. He was 3 months behind the sentiment on covid and now he is behind the sentiment on separation. His people are telling him its time to fight and he just cant get it. Does he need a Otoole type resurrection to wake up?

So you think the whole convoy and all blockades are just about Alberta?

I feel safe saying most people aren’t involved because of NEP and equalization for Alberta. Particularly all the people who aren’t even from Alberta… Such as the great number from Quebec.

Why anyone is viewing this as Alberta vs Ottawa I just don’t get. It’s much bigger than Alberta. Get rid of some conceit or get heads out of asses or something. Saying this is about Alberta and separation is like the people saying it’s all racists. If this is showing anything it’s that there’s a large portion of the East that feels very similarly about many things as the West does. People need to stop using it as fuel for separation and realize this is actually showing agreement throughout the country. Probably much to Trudeau’s dislike after repeatedly trying to hammer in a wedge.

And Burnt, it is possible to listen to grandparents and parents without becoming a dedicated follower of their views and opinions. We are complex beings with the ability to not carry generational grudges.

Convoy has nothing to do with Alberta. It didn’t even start in Alberta.

Blaithin, it wasnt about any single place at first. it was a response to govt over reach in many areas, not just covid.

But now its falling back to a second front, the only one we have left. Yes lots of people down east dont like whats being done, but I dont see them flipping seats in Toronto or Montreal yet.

By the time we get to that kind of rage, the country will be a smoking cinder.

No its time for AB to pull back from this abomination. I highly suspect Quebec is doing the same thing.

You aren’t looking very hard if you aren’t seeing protests in other places. Quebec protests are rivalling those in Alberta and BC. Also interestingly so far I’ve only heard of Quebec Liberal MPs calling out Trudeau, none of the Western ones.

Stop trying to cut the west off, it weakens us. It wasn’t about one place and it still isn’t about one place.

I have seen all the protests around Canada and the world. France had 18 months of them and they did nothing. The convey accomplished much but now we have more restrictions from the EMA, ones we cant fight back against

Are you saying the CPC can win the next election? The LPC will have a revolt? And if they dont? If Trudeau pulls out another media backed steal or worse, Freeland gets anointed and wins? Whats your solution.

                Agree Blaithin.
This is really a class revolution.
The Liberal elite(not exclusively political party Liberals of course) against the working class.
                The makers vs the takers.
It transcends provincial borders, political parties, Urban versus rural, race and Creed and gender and affluence and education, and even international borders.
Freezing the accounts and unpersoning anyone who supports this movement could be the best thing they could do. You would divide society exactly along the makers versus the takers. And completely expose who is reliant on who

                  Solution for what?

Trudeau is losing Quebec. If he loses them he loses it all. Even if the Liberals get in, he’s on very thin ice to be their leader. The EMA is not a done deal yet despite him talking like it is. His international status is taking a huge hit. A lot is also going to depend on the CPC leadership race. They get the right team going they have the best chance in over a decade.

There is so much in limbo right now and if just one thing tips a little more Trudeau is toast. The idea of pulling out more “Separate!! Down with the East!” mantras at a time when a lot of the East is with us seems like an extremely poor choice. Especially when looking at the home front of provincial politics and the high likelihood of the NDP making another good run for office. You think a provincial NDP government is signalling Alberta is in a place to separate?

Separatism is a pipe dream for those with it. Energy should be directed to other paths. Can’t get mad at Trudeau for using speeches to create division if you skip along the path behind him wanting to separate.

Why is it always the CPC doesnt have the right team. Look at Trudeaus team. There isnt a bigger group of fckups and near criminals.

You will never change the hearts and minds of a progressive lefty of thats been living off free stuff and watching cbc. Is that what you are thinking? Trudeau has added millions to their ranks since covid.

I disagree. We will just waste time again. This country is a bad marriage and how often do those get saved.

AF, this is whats in our electorate now. Is there a harder policy than jailing someone who disagrees with you.

The takers outnumber the makers by a long shot. Some play both sides of the aisle, they take from someone else and make for themselves, cough Quebec.

I cannot understand why the Conservatives are always outmanouvered by the lying Libranos. Only that juicy lies go over better than unpolished truth.
And the people fall for the shiny candy time after time.

As for your marriage analogy, who's the winner, who's gonna survive if you sit and argue over a divorce when the house is burning down over your heads?

Interesting to watch the huge support for this freedom movement in Quebec the past few days ... and around the world . Agree , Trudeau is losing Quebec
I have never seen so many Quebec and Canadian flags flown together in my lifetime as the past few weeks .

The Quebec protest happened out in QC, thats Bloc territory already. Its Montreal they need to crack. With $10B in equalization flowing in there, how will that exactly happen.

I disagree with blaithin. This is not just some political aberration that if we could just chat with some people and bring them around we can flip this.

Its much deeper than that. I bet many of these supporters want peoples assets seized because they have none of their own. I mean they dont think twice about confiscating wealth from the west.

We are going to miss our chance to protect ourselves. if not separation then at least Implement the recommendations form the Fair Deal Panel as a first step. Make some sort of a stand.

And that constitutes the actual emergency.
