Much as I laugh at some Trumpian conspiracy theories I also laugh at the nazi lurking around the corner mythology from the left as well.

Chuck2 I am a realist, I am not one of those people that believes I can legislate or shame people into changing their beliefs. Insulting or running people down or for that matter calling them names simply gets their back up or drives them underground. Government policies like hiring quotas for minorities simply create resentment. Prime Ministers like Jean Chrétien or Stephen Harper tried to govern all of Canada. Trudeau only governs for those that agree with him, to hell with the rest of you.

You fail to acknowledge his incredible ability to slide out of the way. The government in no way directs the police and they are 3 levels removed from Ottawa police. Which is why the inquiry is so important.

They knew the Alt Right was US funded. They knew Canada Unity was coming to overthrow. They knew the far right religious was coming with them and doing Coutts AB. They knew EVERYTHING. Its why PM said what he said - he was right because he knew exactly who was there. He was pissed because everyone so screwed up.

So why did they not just pick off these handful of criminal agitators before all this happened? Why did they let this fester into what happened ?
