There are those on both sides of this issue for whom any form of consensus is impossible.

Perhaps the silent majority, like myself, finds the public debate itself more cup emptying than filling.
I suspect the "average" agree with protesting but not blockades.

I will borrow this next thought from a podcast I watched.
Among the plethora of tragedies of late, the failure of the opposition needs adding to the list.
No greater opportunity has been handed them in years than the closure of parliament for debate on the Act. What a photo op they could have had assembling on the steps of a closed parliament as one demanding its opening for debate. Few tragedies compare to the mockery made of parliament these last two years. Culminating essentially in passage of a declaration of "war" without debate.
The exaggerated dangers pale in comparison to attending British Parliament in 1940.
All parties have failed us. All politicians should feel shame.

I could go on for pages with examples of what I see as the slope we have been accelerating down for some time.
Future generations will have to adapt to the unknown consequences.
For now, I need a break.
As Reagan said "freedom is only one generation from extinction".

Not directed at you BP - but it fits...

You should be all sleeping with your fn light on.

The irony is that the same people who thought that the CROW was guaranteed in perpetuity and that the CWB was paid a premium for all wheat sales are the same people who believe this is about a vaccine.

The CROW cost farmers billions from the time Jean Luc had a cabinet agreement to end it and again billions when Charlie wanted to end it in 1993....billions... some of you here protested against it - some for it. The left were wrong. 13 billion (Pepin) to 7 billion (Mayer) to 1.3 billion (Goodale) because of SWP, NDPs and the NFU. Who apologized to farmers for being wrong?

Former CWB employees now openly admit that: "a large percentage" of wheat was sold underneath the US asking price to "clear the system". Because of SWP, NDPs and the NFU, changes were rushed in 2012 and were shitty for farmers; however, who apologized to farmers for being wrong the other 25 years??

This is not about a vaccine. Get your heads out of your ass.

And if you firmly believe that this time you are right and the right wing conspiracy theory is so off base - why are you hiding?

Larry, did you ever notice that any project the govt ever takes on goes over budget and lasts 3 times longer than the original timeline.

But for some reason they had those QR, ArriveCan and contact tracing algos ready to go in no time flat.

Same as the vaccines. 7 billion doses ready in a couple months. thats like 5M doses a minute.

I've been through enough women and dealt with enough "suits" that I sleep like a baby. In the dark. Naked. No mask. After an evening smoke.
Although age does dictate I'm very careful if I feel like I have to fart.

IF I were 35 years younger with the equity I have today.
I would be emigrating to a country where my progeny would have a constitutional evolution and a sense of national pride to feel proud about.

The small exposure I'm involved in down south has been doing very well these past two years.
Plentiful willing labor, exuberant customers, and a sensible govt.

I hear Ukraine like Canada starting this morning will be under thier Emergency Measures Act.
Not sure if it is as desperate a situation there as the Russians arn't parked in front of thier top government buildings in Kiev yet but guess they thought it eas time.
Mr Treudau will think he is a trendsetter.

“On Monday at 8 pm we still required the emergency act even though Ottawa was cleared out. Today, Wednesday, at 430, the downtown is still cleared out so guess I can revoke it now.”

44 hours makes all the difference I guess.

Wonder if this makes him feel like he looks better than if he’d lost to the senate.

Capital, immigration and new businesses would not come near a country like that with a ten-foot pole. I just heard of a good customer that is looking at a farm in Texas and putting his land up for sale. Doesn’t want to live in a communist country. That’s the perception that the world has of us now. A prime minister so arrogant that he wouldn’t discuss alternate options, but hurls lies and abuses at civilians, then expunges their rights and freedoms that were embrazened in the constitution. You left-wing lunatics can say what you want but the damage was not created by a peaceful protest. The world has taken notice, according to relatives in Australia, they are horrified for us.
That’s why he had to lift it while it was stalled in the Senate. World wide condemnation played a huge part
Some think it was a brilliant move ...... time will tell.
