Googled charest and was surprised that he wasn’t older than 63 coming 64 this year. Born in 1958 and graduated with a law degree from university. Admitted to quebec bar in 1981 at the age of 23. Elected to the HoC in 1984 at 28. His career was politics until he stepped down as quebec liberal leader in 2012 at 54. As of late he has been a consultant for huawei. I personally don’t think this is what the federal conservatives need right now.

Charest would be able to take jagmeet singh’s job of propping up the federal liberal minority.

I guess I will have to renew my membership in order to vote in this. I don't dislike Charest but he is old news. Lewis was my first choice the last time around. Before she came in I believed Pierre was the guy but Lewis has a lot of merit. I think her getting some experience as a MP and the knowledge to voters that she did as well as she did will make her far more of a contender. This will be interesting to watch. I think memberships have to bought by late spring.

Ps I know this should be in rural issues.

But intrigued and need explanation of how you vote the next leader in?

Rank and file mum and dad members of the party vote for the leader not the Caucus?

          What’s a membership cost?

Any other benefits beside voting rights?

Does the liberal side of politics have same system?

Is it open to corruption meaning a candidate could buy memberships for people on there behalf to ensure votes?

We are in midst of state election here, socialist left will get back in. But the leader is about as right wing as a lefty will get.

Federal election as well but hasn’t been announced. Neck and neck slim majority if at all deals may have to be done

By "Liberals," you must mean the media arm of the Liberal Party of Canada,,, the Media themselves !

Liberals don't do the dirty work, the Media does,,, Liberals don't have to send emails and instructions about who and how they want their opposition attacked,,, there's no paper trail, because the Media knows who to attack, they think alike, they have the same values, they know what angles to use, and when to attack and put Liberal opponents on defense.

I still want to know, how many "on the street" interviews the Media had to do,,, to find 3-4 BOPICs they could string together in a clip for the nightly news,,, all saying Justin's Blackface didn't bother them. Was it more than 40? more than 80?? more than 100??? I guess it doesn't really matter, cause all that mattered was that the Media was broadcasting to Canadians, colored people saying Justin was Okay,,, like Officer Barbrady, "nothing to see here."

I like Leslyn, although, I think more experience in the HofC would be a help to her, tactical wise.(she was just elected for the first time last fall) I like PP as well, but I'm hesitant that the PM should also be your attack dog. PP can't feel restrained in wherever he lands up, he's needed to do the work that is needed to be done with the "elbows," and to b*tchslap the Media when needed. So ya, I like Leslyn for PM and PP as deputy or another high profile, I suppose finance.(just not sure on the timing for that combo)

The Conservative party hasn't existed since Harper and his Backbench wingnuts high jacked it.

PP hasn't done anything in life but feed at the Taxpayers trough and his support of the Illegal Blockade in Ottawa will be a pimple on his ass if he becomes CPC leader.

LL Pro Life stance will be baggage that she won't shake. Many women voters will definitely shy away for her for the simple fact women want to be able to make their own choice even though some old men feel they should do it for them.

JC is a seasoned politician but I don't think he can gel into what the CPC party has now become. He is very intelligent though and would grab some of those Quebec votes along with Ontario.

Mad Max could be a spoiler for the CPC as his votes could increase because of his anti mask, anti mandates and pro Illegal Blockade stances.

The other thing is the Maverick Party has gained popularity with all the news surrounding Jail Bird Tamara Lich, and maybe they'll run candidates in all the Western provinces.

James Moore would be my pick to lead the CPC party, he's from B.C. which I think would help him in getting B.C.seats and if I do recall B.C. is in Western Canada.

Wouldn’t worry about ppc or maverick. Last election judging by signs and every right wing wacko in the country supporting maverick I thought they would see some votes. I guess it was only the right wing wackos I know who voted for them.

Not sure about your comment of the "left" hoping she doesn't run.

She a social Conservative which will only push the CPC party even further backwards.

Isn't Mad Max's People Party a good enough alternative for the social Conservatives, or do they need a second party to F uck up?

Landownunder each party sets own rules for leadership race before the race begins. Rules for CPC 2022 RACE NOT YET PUBLIC but soon. If like last race, any Canadian cpc member is eligible as long as they put up 200,000 dollars as entry fee and a refundable 100,000 promise to follow rules. Leaders are voted for in cpc by a ranked ballot system of all confirmed party members holding a valid membership by a confirmed date. Corruption is possible, in fact Alberta premier is still under police investigation for his leadership election before he was elected leader/premier. The 100,000 dollar refundable amount is to deter corruption
