It would not surprise me if old Buffett was a major reason that KXL was put on permanent stop. When you can buy a railway , lock , stock , and barrel it does make you wonder who pulls the strings. The BNSF was about a 48 billion dollar deal . No chump change.

It must be something to be able to short one market to gain in another.

The way skippy and company are ignoring all other issues except the climate mission.

I wouldn't doubt that he is putting pressure on Biden to not reverse his decision on Kxl.

Heard that theory before. Buffet is a Democrat as well. Biden will double down and not cave keeping kxl off the table. I’ve surmised for years the USA wants to keep our oil landlocked so they have a reserve for the future. Might not be in my lifetime but there will be a day when this is necessary.

Canada set to approve Bay du Nord deepwater oil project: source

The Bay du Nord project will be formally announced after 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, a source with direct knowledge told Global News.

News of the expected announcement was first reported by CTV News.

The Bay du Nord project consists of several oil discoveries in the Flemish pass basin, some 500 kilometres northeast of St. John’s in Newfoundland and Labrador, according to Norway's Equinor, which operates the project.

The company says Bay du Nord will be worth about $3.5 billion to the Newfoundland and Labrador government, with oil production beginning in the latter part of the decade.

Bay du Nord would be Canada's first deepwater project to produce oil, with wells in about 1,200 metres of water pumping around 188,000 barrels of oil a day.

Hibernia and Terra Nova have been tankering oil out for 30 yrs.

Tanker bans are only for Alberta oil.

What a great country canuckistan is eh? Most people in eastern canuckistan just hate the guts of western Canadians and we can't get a vote done to separate? Shame on us.

You hear about step parents abusing children. Hateful treatment, negligence and abuse.

Well its not all bad. With that move Trudeau has boxed himself in on his green scam, he has woke retard ministers dead set against this, but it also allows the maritimes to start paying their way in confederation.

And it wakes us up to the reality that Canada is a balkanized place, always has been, and we need to focus on solutions here in the west. Cross country unity projects are dead. Bribe the commies in Manitoba and forge a path to Churchill. A combined military outpost, tourism spot with at least seasonal shipping of commodities would be a huge win for us. Power it the port with hydro from MB with a feeder line back down the corridor into sask.

God this is just too simple for even our dumbest politicians to have thought of.

I agree we should have pipelines even for national security. No excuse not to.
Oil will be around a long while yet.
Others are right 100 125$ a barrel will advance green technology. And what if climate science is right. Just because we do not like it . Does not mean it is not true.
Science usually right about a lot of things
You trust science and math to steer your tractor down the field , but not to
                      Predict global climate effects.
                      Strange
