In my math , inflation is at a MINIMUM of 50 % on everything we've been buying lately. some stuff more , some less.

Leave it to the liberals to not tell us what the real numbers are.

    Happy spring everyone!

High prices for used equipment started a few years ago, as a lot of farmer can't afford new anymore.

We've always bought good quality used equipment, and been very fortunate. You drive into the farmer's yard and that's your fist indicator.

We always go look at machinery before the auction sale and call to talk to the farmer before hand.

        Just saying.

Has Dozer 20.8/42 the classic antique that can pull the air seeder or a grain cart!

There are some great buys if a person careful!
A 400hp spare tractor is a nice antique to have around… no chips in it! Auto steer easy to put on.

Agree , our you can pull a planter with an old girl like this …

              1992 Case 9270 with over 10,000 hrs . Don’t need a $750,000 tractor for that .
Put er in gear and giver and let the planter do the work while using 6-8 gal/ hr . We just put a new seat in er to make it comfy

V8 Deere redone 2500 hrs ago with clutch. 8500hrs now.

These are the antiques we need to have around!

Even the V8 Deere engine over haul at today’s prices is cheap now!

Classics no matter what colour… trucks, pickups… paying 100k for a pickup is insane! &$240k for a truck?

I am getting to be an old fool!

$1M for a combine???? Plus can’t even get one this year on top!

                  Wow

My perspective, coming from an area where old farm equipment goes to die:
It seems to me that a shortage of used equipment has been a slow motion train wreck that was coming no matter what.
There was such a glut of used equipment on the market persisting from back in the boom years of the 70s into early 80s even that realistically has taken this long to work its way through the system.
Not long after that when no till took over from tillage, and the agricultural economy was unprofitable for so long, that very little new equipment was purchased and needed compared to the boom years at the full tillage years.
