      Good Luck everyone
I *think* I've got most everything on farm to put things in the field for seeding, but there are always the unexpected breaks that you couldn't necessarily forsee... There are a couple parts that I got the last ones in RME's dealer stock, and they have been backordered since everyone started stocking up for their usual spring seeding run. That doesn't bode well.

I wonder how many accountants will have to brush up on how to deal with recapture of depreciation this year. Probably hasn't been something anyone in agriculture had to deal with in the past

digging out the purchase price to figure capital gains on equipment that has been dragged out of the slough/bush/pasture...eg harrow packer bars, ground drive stone pickers, k100s, f600's...

Do you actually need the purchase price? Once it has been depreciated to zero, isn't that the book value you have to use?

if you sell it for more than you purchase it for the difference is a capital gain which 50% is taxed at your marginal rate... then the balance is deducted from your cca schedule till it hits nill then is taxed fully as recaptured capital cost allowance.

these new accelerated cca deductions can get a person in trouble if you take the full amount to reduce taxes while using a loan for the purchase. this may be why trading multiple units often is so popular.
