At this point, Charest would oversee cutting CPC seats in half against Trudeau. Someone needs to get him out of the race.
Guy is damaged goods and any senile boomers thinking he is the 2nd coming need a kick in the head.
If he is such a force for CPC, then give him a seat to run in Quebec and see if he can flip it. But he sure as hell aint going to be leading this.

Politics that happen south of us, eventually finds it way up to Canada.
Pierre Polio sounds alot like captain chaos who had One term as US President.
Blame,Divide, with Simple Solutions to difficult problems.
If you want a conservative party to get rid of the governing liberals then forget the wingnuts like PP or Lewis who will gain you PPC voters but you WILL NOT win government.
Conservative party needs to go back to being Progressive Conservatives- before being Overtaken by the cancer of the reform party-
PC governments were Not anti-science and not Anti intellectual and were respected governments. You need a Leader that can bring this forward but above anything you need Membership that THINKS this way as well.

Charest is just O'toole light waste of time to have a vote. Pierre doesn't come across as being uneducated in question period or anti science. Most folks just tired of the flip flops politicians do most days that's why reform and max gain there votes the way they do. Who ever takes over is going to be a hot mess to deal with, lots of Rolaids and Advil.

People with brains are a threat to liberals. Watch trugrope speak. Then watch Pierre speak. One has a brain that functions. The other does not.

Does anyone actually think that it will make any difference, or that Canada can be saved by who leads the CPC next time?
I am not that optimistic. While it would be refreshing to see someone with some intellect, integrity, economic sense and the ability to speak a coherent sentence be elected, there is nothing they could do to reverse or even slow the train wreck that is occuring within the remainder of the country.
If the CPC chooses a viable leader, and they get elected, all it will do is postpone the inevitable separation of the west, while ensuring we are in that much poorer of a position when the time comes.

Sask and Ab could be debt free within a few yrs.

And I predict a lot of underwater homeowners in Toronto and Vancouver. Maybe the repos will be dolled out for a new batch of immigrants.

They are already trying to do that protecting seats in Quebec.
