Friday Crop Report on a Thursday!

Merry Christmas, Oh wait it's Easter and tomorrow is Good Friday, and we're white again in Eastern Sask. Not in the Racist white but ****ing snow white. Not snow white from Disney because well they are getting weird also if you follow the news.

Hey, Great news Elon is going to buy Twitter, he has been quiet for a few days and well sometimes the right has to beat the left and take back things.

Skippy did his budget and the MSM said job well done. WTF when you still have 53 Billion more debt and all you have to show for the Trillions you wracked up is we can buy pot now from a corner store. Wake up in Eastern Canada and Vancouver.

    Crop Report for April 12th.

No seeding will happen now in our area till May 2 or 6th. Yea frost needs to come and take some water away and now this next snow needs to soak in. Next week doesn't look that promising yet so I would say a late easter and late seeding go hand in hand.

Our one drill is dug out of snow and was sitting clean ready for new colters and sc****rs for anhydrous plus a few hoses the second drill was almost ready to be moved into the yard but the tractor that pulls it is in the shop getting a track repair done. New stuff if it works ill share if it doesn't I won't. Tractors have all gotten oil changes and filters and cabs cleaned plus Andy Clean on outside so ready to get them dirty in the mud.

Land changes are still going on but we struck out and will only have a few extras, it's tough to sit back and wait but eventually, my plan will come to fruition.

All fertilizer is delivered and anhydrous is a go with the new company putting extra trucks on for our area.

Seed is coming in the next week and some chemical that is hard to find is already in transit.

Seems the only one who didn't get the memo for spring was mother nature but if she wants to continue with the storm paths she is putting out all summer I'm good with that.

The last days to change Sask crop insurance this past week and some went higher to 80% and others stayed the course at 70% but definitely, I still think it's one of the best first lines of defense for a farm.

Hey the second that troubles me is Cash Advance for the full amount in spring and you can base it on your Ag stab amount. Ah, most don't get a payment so this isn't great but if you are short on cash due to drought it's another option that should be used.

Ag stab is still a joke sorry it's a ****ing joke.

Ag invest is still the best tool but it should have been like a savings account you build like RRSPs or Tax-free savings and when you have a ****up you can pull for quick cash or down payment to refinance etc. But Bureaucrats didn't like farmers to have cash so they wanted to **** it up. Some farmers felt they needed the cash for toys. It was a savings and if you made it till you retired it would have been used for that.

Grain markets are mostly green this morning and those who waited to lock in prices for fall did very well compared to the January lock in prices. Grain companies play with farmers all the time, it's just like the pea contracts at our local terminal they love to be 2.50 less than everyone else.

I still think selling in increments throughout the year from fall to spring and on average gives most the best chance at a decent return. I like so much cash after harvest then lock the bins till the end of Jan. Others have different plans they all work but the best part it is a plan.

Those still looking for moisture I hope and pray you to get it. All forecasts seem to be saying a dry summer again except Drew thinks were going to be wet in June and then dry off like last year into harvest. Time will tell but the fun thing about farming in Western Canada each year is a reset and you do it all over again.

Ok so we're almost ready to seed but mother nature has stopped all progress.

Total rain so far is 2/10 rain since April 1st at the farm weather station.

One last topic Farm Auctions wow is all I can say, I have a 2009 Chev in the Bush that looks almost as good as the one the other day, and ill gladly take half the selling price as is where it sits.

Oh **** I forgot the other big news that shows were back in the 80s where land went insane equipment went up gov ran debt and a Trudeau was walking around ****ed in the head. Interest rates are going to go up and up and up and up and our stupid Trudeau thinks it's ok to not worry he has our back and will spend more. Again I said it since day one this one is so stupid it's not even funny and wait he is coming after all 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton pickups and SUVs then he will subsidize all-electric cars thanks to you folks who work and need these vehicles. It's like a bad move just shot in Black and white and on an iPhone.

Finally, enjoy your Easter with family and friends as we use to years ago for our family it was a Thursday to Sunday event yes I came from a more church going family way way back. But it was a different time and family was who you spent time with.

    Happy Easter.

No, it's not about a ****ing chocolate easter bunny.

Like I mentioned before ... late Easter, late spring.

Sunday morning I will crack these and see what my weather prognosticator tells me. I have some really interested neighbours awaiting the results.

I cant see a wheel turning here until may 10. Lot of standing water needs to go somewhere. Need to get some double digit days with winds.

I have crop insurance up at 80%. Its pricey but necessary this yr I think.

Sold some wheat yesterday for $14.02

Prices where I live have been low all winter compared to most of the province from the numbers I’ve seen.

First time I’ve ever sold at those values.

Realistically wheat should be nothing less than $16.

I agree wheat is too low for what's going on and what's going on in the USA for drought still.

Little market play by our grain companies is going on to keep prices low.

So did this storm of the century actually hit anyone like they claimed it would? Anyone get fifty to eighty cm of snow?

                  SF,

Are you still sitting on all your wheat waiting for $15 or have you been rewarding the market? $14.50 got some more of mine. I'm down to 1/3 wheat and barley, all my fababeans and 10% canola.

We got to half sold on wheat in January. Did have a small contract in the fall for one bag so took those lumps and moved on.

I have delivered into the system another amount and when I pull that trigger we will be down to 20% left.

So far I am happy with my average.

So why are you still in Agristability after all these years with no payment?

Maybe you should talk to your accountant or get a new one.

After Ritz Cracker gutted it why remain in it?

MAY 2? add another 2 for us, N of #5 full winter, no Plus temps till next week. Rain every few days in May? 180 degree turn around here.

Way better write offs than piss away to DEVILS in Ottawa....
