We had .6” here, hopefully no rain today and some sun ☀️ tomorrow and start Monday afternoon. We’re not far from Wakaw so glad we missed that event but did have our power out for 14 hours. Sitting at the 85% done, forecast for the next week is mostly sunny ☀️ but the highest high is 16C for the week but don’t see the F word. It’s kind of nice to have Sunday mostly off, and get a bit of rest time, been working some long hours. Hopefully everyone’s forecast is good and we can resume seeding in a timely matter and finish this season on a high note, good luck everyone.

I tried to upload a picture but it failed every time. Just before the long weekend, we had so much hail the ground was white. Chased me out of the field for quite a while.
I can't think of a better time of year to get a hail storm though. Much better than last year's early September hail storm.

First pic at wakaw is a field of ours on the right. Canola was just poking out of ground. Still hail in the field this morning. Will have to wait a few days to assess. 2.5" of rain came with it. At my yard, 6 miles south of pic was barely 1/2" of rain.

That really sucks , going to be tough on that canola for sure .
Cereals and peas seems to shake that off
We have some canola struggling a bit after just a 1 inch heavy quick rain in our gumbo areas

Something alluring to the sweet and brutal beauty of that country throughout what you mentioned. Something how you go south of Camrose and the climate changes or east far enough of QE2 and same sort of change. The Alberta highway system runs on a nw angle so in order for us in nw Sask to travel to Calgary there isn’t a real direct route that’s quick. Hauling horses to Calgary stampede we’d take routes through that country as we could travel slower and easier for the horses. Seen a lot of that country.

Our seeding in Gumbo Flats is fait a complete, with 15 acres left for the ducks. Now 3/4 of old lake bottom north of 48 and 1000 acres over in the Teddy Bear Hills for fun. Looks like 3/10 inch of rain today and rising. That’ll start that scratched-in Canoly. We heard Wawota got 2 inches last night and still drizzling. We don’t need that, thanx. Good Luck All our AV friends, get er in and go fishing. 👍

Go fishing oh that's a good idea I need to do it right after seeding is done next Sunday.

6/10 so far today not what I wanted but we will have to take it.

Farming is so easy anyone can do it.

Big progress the last day or two Way up to 9 out of 72 quarters done on the way to town. So 12.5% seeded. More like slimed in. Rained overnight and today. Dunno how much yet, it’s not like it matters.

The other thread taking of and showing pics of emerged crops is bizarre to see. Glad for those with emerged crops.

Went to check my soon to be hayland on Friday. Got stuck. As one friend said. Seeding conditions are awesome. ON THE HILLS!

3/4 of an inch now and it's a slow rain. Not needed but still have to take it. We will start mudding again Wednesday I think.

Will finish a week later than last year at this rate.
