Are there any air carts where you can’t smack your head?

Got 31/2 tenths last night. Think it come down fast enough. Will this be enough to jam that clover and Timothy into the ground?

Durum done as of about 10 minutes ago. Had the youngest with me so mom could go do some gardening. The constant drone of the tractor engine wins every time! Like a typical farmer he had his lunch box drained within about 40 minutes of sitting down in the cab, and then he started to do the head bob... I threw my hoodie on the floor and he curled up and passed out for a good hour.

I've managed about .48" of "useable" moisture since the snow left 2.5 months ago. So far I've managed to plug cereals and pulses into moisture, but I've been waiting for a respectable moisture event, that the venerable weather man always says is about 5-7 days out, to plug my mustard in. This weekend I spread edge in anticipation, hoping it would dissolve in the surface layer, but the magical 1"+ that they said was coming has turned into nothing.

I suppose I'll plow it into dust and hope for the best... The 10 day+ forecast looks horrendous for this area though, so emergence will likely be 30% at best. Near consensus among long range models that this area is looking at the next 10-14 days with nil significant moisture. Last year was the first year I've ever lost hope in a crop in June, but if the forecast holds true, then we will be a lost cause even before in crop spraying.

Again... who's in the sweet spot? what sort of acreage are we talking about that still has max potential in western canada? Never ending drought here, and alot of places flooded or simply too wet. With a very hungry world staring at "net exporters" of calories, we sure don't seem to offer much hope of aleviating that hunger!

Starting to get old Helmsdale. U can’t buy a rain and I’d gladly give u some of the 5 inches we’ve had this month. Another 3/4 inch last night and suppose to be another coming Sunday. Gonna be a few days delay again. These delays are adding time on the other end and u know what that means. Dreaded F word. Especially because we have had all this global warming this spring nothing is exactly in super grow mode. All our wheat is up and peas are close with it but it’s gotta get moving. Hope u can get that rain that the weather/climate change experts keep teasing u with.

I hear ya. Trust me, I feel almost guilty coming on here and saying that I'm frighteningly dry...

The one thing that seems common though is the cool nature of the weather. I keep thinking the only blessing so far is that we haven't had a string of 80* days with a SW wind. It has been cool, and generally cloudy which keeps the evaporation down. Now... that's a blessing for us, and a curse for you guys. It could turn into a curse here though if it doesn't get its shit figured out because with how dry it is, if we have a system push through here in the next couple weeks there's no moisture to keep temperatures above zero.

All I know is it seems like no-one that's a semi-regular poster on here is "excited" about the conditions this spring. Are there individuals that have kept quiet for whom the stars have aligned and they're absolutely pumped about how things look?

In guys travels have they seen or heard from friends that are in "the sweet spot"? How big is it? In another couple or three weeks, we're going to start making yield projections, and if the wet is still wet, and the dry still dry, it'll be dismal!

Conditions are excellent if it would not rain for a week. Most are only getting rolling. I estimate a third to half done. Rain for next three days. Will need good fall weather.

Don’t doctors recommend getting up and stretching your legs every hour on long distance flights.

What about guys who drive 14hrs a day for 3 weeks straight and never get out of the cab?

Lot of us aren’t the bastions of health. Old friend told me his cows would of been gone many years ago but he probably would be dead from cirosis of the liver.
