Like Case said, we rolled after emerged too, but had to wait until they were big enough that they didn't break off, 3rd or 4th node.

We have rolled beans after they have emerged. Third trifoliate. Rolled when hot and dry . Plants wilt and become more pliable.

maybe it would make them stand like the sprayer tracks in canary seed?

Like agstar says roll during heat of the day. Best is right after the drill leaves the field but that’s not always possible.

Try not to roll the peas when they are wet and up. This can spread disease between the plants from the rolling.

Not on mellow damp ground. Compaction and smooth fields causes the rains to runoff in big sloughs. Tight root zones also facilitates root disease. Roll'em when its dry enough 4 to 6 node is fine imo.
