We just finished spraying a bunch in anticipation of this .
Two way to look at it .
1 . if it don’t rain we just got rid of any extra weed pressure to give the crop an extra week being so dry , been down this road before .
2 . If it does rain most of our wheat already 5-6 leaf with paired row and will be a month ahead of any new flush .
We did get over an inch after we finished all wheat , so to me what’s up is what was going to be up .
Canola , done RR first pass , Liberty not ready yet so just sprayed grasses . Beetle pressure off the first 1/2 of acres , the last half missed frost damage so seed treatment doing its thing .
Peas done , had too at 5-7 node , again with paired row so any flush if it rains weeds will be a month behind . Also have option with basagran in areas till flowering if need be , will gladly do that if we get the moisture.
If it rains we may stream on 28 if need be on best fields . If no rain , the boat comes out and we did all we could to this point .

A few days ago, but it does show the pattern change coming, unfortunately may be a bit late and not enough for areas south of here. This area as usual just on the edge and a bit late for timing .

I have a yellow dot over me according to the radar. Not one drop. Even the cloud cover doesn't match .

These climatards talking 30-50 years down the road when they can't get accurate up to the minute radar set up.....sheesh!!!!!

It looks pretty substantial over Regina, but only a few sprinkles at White City with the system planted right on top- supposedly. We’re hoping these clouds will open up and dump to soften up the crust over these small seeds.

Getting brutal around here . I pour 1000s of gallons around the yard , just to prevent a total dust bowl.and keep some grass alive. Wheats is there. Some skips. . Canola goes from small 2 leaf can't see it , unless you get out to a 5 leaf where there was a snow bank.
It is always darkest before the dawn.
                  That's the theory.
Promises, Promises 10 -15 times of 60% chances Of rain
                  Have netted 0 . Nothing.
If the wife gave me a 60% chance , 15 times and nothing.

A small storm started up around Biggar giving some as much as an inch of rain and a bunch of hail north of town. Some think there will be damage from the hail but beggars can’t be choosers. Lots of seed still not germinated, should be now or never. Hailed on canola crops last June went 35 while everyone else was lucky to get 15. Some good amounts are forecast for the next week, hope they produce even half of what they are saying. Good luck to everyone who are still looking for their first measurable rains, the brown hole of death that is this area is getting smaller.

We got a quick inch on some of our land from that storm that shot through mid aft, other land got only a few tenths.
