Would only take 30 years to pay for itself lol
I wonder what those used trucks will be worth 5-7 years down the road when they need a full battery replacement?
Would have to nearly give it away if it costs $30,000 or so for a new battery system? Or can they be upgraded reasonably?
I guess time will tell .
That same F150 new , 2022 , can be bought for $40,000 less . Low $60’s without dealing much
You can buy o lot of fuel for $40,000

Think its going to take a while yet to cool things off. 130 k new jobs in Jan when normal times would be layoffs a few thousand after Christmas rush. Pissing match between Wally World and suppliers over price now even with some lower freight costs. Government employees looking for big wage increases to cover cost of living high int rates this stuff feeds on its self . Old school buddy says toy sales ( Sleds and ATV's ) still strong can't keep them on the lot. And he's not easy to deal with ! It took longer in the 80's than everyone planned for but when deflation happened it was a shitstorm .

One interesting thing I was told recently is that the under 30 crowd before Covid was 30 % of the vehicle sales . The past 4 months that is below 5 % now

Watch for the spike in repossessions . . . .

Auto industry in big trouble, they just don’t know it yet. If not this year, ‘24 and ‘25, the industry at-risk of shuttered dealerships and restructuring. Just wait for the cries-for-bailouts . . . .

Best investment available right now: 4.75% GIC. www.eqbank.ca We have to keep in mind that central banks exist for the suppression of interest rates below market values. Therefore they never raise rates, they just suppress less which causes them to rise towards the free market level. With excess debt that is out there right now, free market rates would be 8 -10%.
Sure as hell can’t get $19’here?
