Maybe this will reverse the downward trend.

At least your chemical worked. Its embarrassing for the amount I have spent trying to knock down weeds this spring. Never bigger than a loonie but won't die. Retail and chemical reps say wait, then its too late.

We’re two weeks late it doesn’t matter this one is in trouble and farmers know that but yes the geniuses at Chicago and min will never see past the post.

Cool summer like 2002 and that year we had a monster coming till Aug 4 th and it was all over. All the experts were saying it’s not bad or it didn’t hurt it or it was just light. Yea -5 from 11 pm till 7 am.

Just a mild frost my ass.

                  But that’s experts

2 weeks....there are some guys a month behind. Unless some heat gives er a real push, we are looking at late July early August bloom around here.

I am going out to top dress ours this week with some snakeoil.

This has zero bearing on markets , our canola there is thin and you can still see up the rows on that stuff . Just showing how canola can take a beating and still be reasonable.
Still more areas in western Canada far worse and very late than most pictures posted here . They know it too

Maybe some climate experts can explain this to me. Day time at or just below normal, night times above normal. How does that happen.

                        Upside down.

                        Next 2 weeks.

Who honestly thought these prices would hold forever? Just because they have finally been fair? Talking with a neighbor, if canola retraces to 15 bucks and wheat under ten, (and it will), the world is going to turn upside down for a lot of guys. In theory.

But I’m probably wrong. Went through the wet decade from hell, and while it pretty much killed my farm and me, it didn’t seem to faze most in these parts. No crop? No problem!

Guys are all in this year sheep, hoping to strike one off before it all goes south.

We used a good portion of our profits last yr on inputs for this yr. Just wasnt able to lock in all we needed last fall.

Lentil market is going to get destroyed first. Looks like guys have way over supplied this market and our buyers arent too hungry right now. Cant even book in new crop and there has to be some in the SW coming off by August 1st.

Kinda funny really, I took the time to figure out picture downloading. Actually I was a little embarrassed when I discovered how easy it was. Then apparently according to you I shouldn’t have posted. Funny world!

Out harvesting the crop that grows spectacularly regardless of the weather here.
A few of the “Daddy” rocks as the kids call them…….

Three generations out today. Usually it’s only two tops. Lots of fun considering the chore. Got 40 acres covered. Only another 160 to go hopefully this week.

Using the gators as a tractor will rut it up bad.

The “new” to us sprayer is leaving plenty of ruts as is even with floaters on. Our Spray Coupe grenaded it’s timing gears again so we went shopping and found a Deere not far from home. Quite a learning curve but my brother is great at figuring this stuff out. The scissor links on the suspension and boom shocks are pooched and that sounds like a common failure.

A three weeks ago things were getting very dry and desperate but now we could use some heat and sun. How quick things can change. Calling for a possible inch tomorrow after an inch on Saturday. Not complaining though. The cows and grass sure are loving it. 🍀

Even the beer clouds lived up to their name after they rolled through this afternoon putting a stop on rock harvesting and spraying. Life is great🍻
