Affecting electricity production too, as low water levels impact hydro and cooling for thermal sources. As a result:
after having already ordered energy-intensive metals and fertiliser producers to curb operations.
Just what the world needs right now.

How is India doing or South America? Thought I read somewhere China was the worlds largest wheat producer but consumed it all and then some. Chinese guy was telling me the south grows the rice while north they grew lots of wheat. Diet and cuisine reflects that in those regions.

SW U.S. is technically a desert 🌵 with far too many people living there putting extra strain on water resources. Although the last 4 weeks of SW monsoons have eased drought conditions tremendously, but they won’t show that yet
NE china is also technically a desert ðŸœ

Adding a huge problem to the SW U.S. is unfettered immigration chearleaded by the Dumycrats. Adding even more strain on water resources.
Although I find it interesting Texas is busing them to DC as fast as they can lol .
The Democrats in New York and DC are crying now ….. when the shoe on the other foot .
Anyway , yes there has been drought but the rains have been all through the area west of Texas and east of California but not a word said about that . Although not big crop country , it is replenishing some water reservoirs
