Well no real rain for us this week maybe a 1/10 but just NW 1.5 the other night. No hail.
So Justin is creating a Gestapo of Fed Climate officers that will check your dugouts sloughs water runs and fields all in the name of a Climate scam. If you don't cooperate you will be taken to the gulags in Winnipeg where you will get environment rethinking training. You will not get any more loans or be able to join any gov program. It's your land but really it's Justin and his friends. **** me we warmed lots over the years and guess what it took a Trudeau to again **** the west. He wins the fall snap election we are done.
The fertilizer will see a drop in Anhydrous coming not two years ago prices but a fall back to under .80 cents an lb. So far any phos product and potash are holding at extremely high last year's prices.
Were getting Cashback in Sask and have a balanced budget yet some complaints. I'll tell you something if they gave more to hospitals and schools the administration would eat it up and kids and patients would see zero help then these same shitty run two groups would ask for more. If you feel so strongly about not liking the little bit of cash donate it to the food bank or Hell try your luck and buy $500 on the Stars lottery or home lottery in each city.
I look at its like two free months' worth of power gas and water in Regina from my wife and my checks.
Ok, the crop Report.
Harvest will be about 8% done all in the west but now spreading to the north and some done in the east.
We haven't started yet.
HRS will get shut down today on our farm on a few fields that were seeded early but then we had two huge rain delays and didn't get going till the 22 of May. Some large farms that early seeded wheat across the valley and on Redlands old place is getting also shut down. Wheat has a bit of Fuz but nothing that will affect grade as it's the odd kernel in a head, not the whole head. Yield will be 60 to 80 range this year in our area. Two weeks from cutting if just sprayed were into Sept so I guarantee this harvest will be done mostly in Late Sept and early October if the weather works for us. We still need two to three frost-free weeks for a lot of the crop.
Durum is all over the map but still needs on average three weeks. Fuz is present in some.
Yield could be average to above in our area.
Peas most are now sprayed and in the waiting period to harvest. Odd field done by guys out real early as soon as the snow is gone or still in tree lines. Disease yields in fields seeded to pulses too often. If in 6 to 8 years was better, never had peas awesome. Early yields are better than last year by lots.
Lentils and rain don't mix enough said.
Flax did bounce back after the last big splash and looks to be filling a nice still odd patch that has twisted issues but not the whole field.
Early oats are changing, yield will be very good for our area.
Early barley is changing and will be swath Sunday, early twisted barley is sprayed and they are going for the feed market that is only .68 cents lower, and no worry. The maltsters need to get with a new plan or no one will grow I repeat no one will grow the shit for you. Work and games will wreck this. New yields are great for new varieties but why deal with the BS? Early seeded will yield about 110 later way higher but late.
Canola price-wise is dropping every day today isn't a good day on the markets. Funny watching Tic Toc videos of guys in SW doing canola it's not very nice. Better than last year but not much. For our area, a good three weeks and she could be a monster. Last year we were just below our average but this year we will push the envelope. One frost and she is ****ed. Interesting few weeks to watch the weather. But another problem I see is if we spray into the last days of Sept and all fields will get harvested in October and that month the weather can **** up the lord's prayer. Canada wide maybe a 19.2 at best
Green feed is getting cut and bailed. The second cut is I think going to happen on hay fields and pastures are still hanging on nice.
So farmers are getting stuff ready, I have two headers touch down now and a third combine back in the yard so we're getting our stuff ready to go. Swathers are on standby to do barley and three days later harvest and will swath Canola if the weather turns ugly.
Have a great week, stay safe, Happy Harvest suppers in the field are back, and watch out for Skippys Gestapo Chucky guys checking dugouts and fields of yours.
