In our swamp, I have cracks in the peat moss. That must count for something? I've never seen that happen before. Giant cracks everywhere else.
One extreme to the other and back again. The spring started out looking record dry and promising. Then a foot of rain in June into early July, then it shut off almost completely ever since.
The clay managed just fine, but I'm combining some gravel land right now and it definitely ran out of water quite a while ago

It’s pretty dry, even in the areas that got lots of rain. The moisture is GONE WITH THE WIND.

I am not pouting like a ten year old that guys NW of us got a great crop , great for them , they got lucky , we did on 1/2 , the other 1/2 not so much as clearly stated several times in posts . Sad to see petty stuff, thought only Glen was like that
Was just the way rains fell this year . A lot more much more fortunate than us and some not as much . We landed mid way , hopefully rains hit our area and east next year

Sure dried up here. Grass sure got hard and calves look hard as steel. My cows are wimps and not used to that hard of grass like southern cows but the calves are packing on pounds now. Hope we get rains before freeze up or it’ll be serious next year. Moisture is pretty deep now.

And right now , as I was implying, it’s dry everywhere here , very dry , regardless of a few showers here and there in early July

And as Larrys map clearly shows
