A bunch of garlic was planted here this week also .
She was enjoying the warm sun while planting. Hopefully some rain without the white stuff this weekend.

Very dry here for NH3 , and this ole unit costs Pennie’s per ac to run compared to custom dry spreaders .

We did a trial a few years back with fall applied N
      100 ac NH3 with stabilizer
      100 ac super U
100 ac 28-0-0 streamed on with stabilizer
      All same actual N rate
NH3 was the cheapest source but by far highest fuel cost and the stabilizer was very expensive/ ac . Also took way more time , just part of the gig of field work

The 28-0-0 was by far the cheapest all costs in and time to apply / ac

Tissue samples the following year were identical as well as yield .
They all work , it’s just what works best in conditions and your farm at the time

The price of 28-0-0 has gone crazy. Most guys here have gone to dry with big carts. We are still side banding uan but not sure for how long . Nutrient said on radio yesterday farmers are making good profits so they can afford high input costs. I won’t darken the doors of a nutrien facilty.

Just some N with stabilizer. The rest will go one at seeding time . If it rains and the stars line up we can add more at fungicide time if need be .
If still dry , we’ll we won’t need fungicide or huge N requirements
What kind of stabilizer do you use with that and how much

That’s my guess , pick up a dime and have them take everything, nah , I agree , best left alone and let others tread those waters first .

Furrow when you stream on Uan do you do any incorporation after application?
Do you use a pull type sprayer for this job or your self propelled?

Never incorporated last time we did that trial
So just plan on leaving till seeding .
We used to stream on with the SP but bought that pull type partly to do the streaming now and for herbicides like Liberty that require higher water volume. Mainly just to take hours off the SP and for jobs the don’t require a big SP and get more acres per fill done .
Even for spring burn off it can do 460 ac per fill or RR canola on first pass if need be .

Ideally I would like to have a 2400 gal tank but for now this seems to fit what we are doing .
A 2400 gal , 135 ft boom would be ideal but they are like hens teeth to find a good used one .
Cost to upgrade the SP is horrendous now so thought this would help extend the life a few more years at a fraction of the cost .
With the two sprayers we can cover a lot of acres quickly in better time when needed . I won’t spray in winds others do at herbicide time .

Used some ContainN we had left over and got some CiriusX from Richardsons.
                              Cost about $2/ac

If one really wants to cover acres they do make a big fella ..

Probably 60% cheaper than a 135 ft 1600 gal new SP
