Got treflan worked in now cleaning pens and hope to work that in before ground gets hard. Thats the only fert I will be putting on this fall that good natural cow stuff. Lots of chubby Canada's feeding on late cut greenfeed still laying on ground waiting for this week's warmer weather.

Planted the garlic yesterday. Probably got sunburnt, it was so stinking warm out. Now hopefully it rains on them, although the forecast keeps changing so I’m not holding on to hope for it.

            Ya the Needham stream bars
Just some N with stabilizer. The rest will go one at seeding time . If it rains and the stars line up we can add more at fungicide time if need be .
If still dry , we’ll we won’t need fungicide or huge N requirements

A bunch of garlic was planted here this week also .
She was enjoying the warm sun while planting. Hopefully some rain without the white stuff this weekend.

Very dry here for NH3 , and this ole unit costs Pennie’s per ac to run compared to custom dry spreaders .

We did a trial a few years back with fall applied N
                100 ac NH3 with stabilizer
                100 ac super U
100 ac 28-0-0 streamed on with stabilizer
                All same actual N rate
NH3 was the cheapest source but by far highest fuel cost and the stabilizer was very expensive/ ac . Also took way more time , just part of the gig of field work

The 28-0-0 was by far the cheapest all costs in and time to apply / ac

Tissue samples the following year were identical as well as yield .
They all work , it’s just what works best in conditions and your farm at the time

The price of 28-0-0 has gone crazy. Most guys here have gone to dry with big carts. We are still side banding uan but not sure for how long . Nutrient said on radio yesterday farmers are making good profits so they can afford high input costs. I won’t darken the doors of a nutrien facilty.

What kind of stabilizer do you use with that and how much

                      Ya it’s crazy now
We bought ours in mid July , $538
If it stays crazy next year , will have to change plans , or just say fak it and sell out to Monnette like everyone else and go to Hawaii .
