I guess you were not alright with all the religious indoctrination going on over the last 100 years in the public school system. Education should be balanced with fair representation of all views. Still should be in rural issues.

Went to the pride parade for support of one’s close figuring things out. Didn’t see a bunch of half naked men acting like retards. Seen all kinds of folks who were decent having a parade. There are people in our own agricultural community part of the lgbtq community for Christ sake. I know lots and I guarantee they’re not out to turn our children gay. I’d be more afraid of JW’s, vegans, and commies of doing so. Not saying there isn’t predators in the community but they exist everywhere. Two local guys from separate incidents and straight have elicited some of the most heinous child pornography. The latest incident the guy and his wife ran a daycare where he was making porn. You’ll probably hear about it cause it’s in court.

Years ago before the Calgary Stampede turned into a bunch of woke turds one fellow who ran the thing was instrumental in bringing the gay rodeo to Calgary. Rumours swirled he was gay but that was not the case. Imagine he faced some ridicule but a burly old cowboy didn’t think there was anything wrong with it.

All my apparent woke talk here I do have issue with drag queens reading to kids at schools. I’m just not there with the reason for it to be a thing. There has to be a middle ground with acceptance and understanding but outright immersion at super young ages worries me. Just what I feel.

At least it’s the parents choice. When they descend upon elementary schools it isn’t with the blessing of parents. My kids are smart and independent minded and I personally wouldn’t care but it’s still such that parents should have a say. I remember in elementary school we had the CARE kit for teaching us about sexual abuse. I remember the bible thumper kids would leave the classroom cause their parents didn’t want them exposed to it. Much as I reflect on it today thinking about abuse in the church it was still parents rights to abstain their children from such exposure no matter whether I thought that was right or wrong. In junior high we had Teen Aid. Religious based program advocating to abstain from premarital sex. Never had sex Ed to any degree. We were mammals and mammals do what mammals do. I do agree somewhat with what teen aid was trying to do but absolutely naïve in the broad sense. Should’ve taught us how to use a condom anyway. Ironically the teen pregnancies were from the hardcore religious people. Go figure.

Asked my folks about this here in western Sask. Learned Lord’s Prayer as did I in the 80’s at school. Other than the christianized holidays we celebrate nothing. Must’ve been a regional thing. Perhaps a more religious area? My parents went to one room schools and in spite of miserable overburdened teachers managed to learn something.
